Well, after a year and a half wait, the latest EA Rugby game is almost due for release.

It's currently coming to PC and PS2, which blows, we need next gen console!

I'm hoping for some decent gamepad input on the PC version as 06 was balls.

Anyone else play the old games? Looking forward to this one?

So I picked it up today for PC, wait for the review :D

Well, as far as the game goes, I'm hardly impressed.
It's exactly the same as 06, feels like the exact same engine, the controller map is better, but that's about it. Graphics are average, no widescreen resolutions (by the looks of it) which isn't cool.

The Stats are absolute rubbish. Hopefully EA does an update, but I doubt it.

Let's hope it's better when it comes to 360.

Is this avaible for just regular xbox?

I haven't played a rugby game since Sega Genisus. Are they pretty good like most soccer games?

Nah, they are usually average. EA does the best ones. But Jonah Lomu Rugby for PS1/PC is a classic.
It's not out for Original Xbox, nor 360, just PS2 and PC, which is fucking balls. Hardly next gen :(

I had Rugby 04 and 05 and never really liked them much. Dunno, can't really get into Rugby games, as you're playing, it just seems like the creators don't have a fucking clue about Rugby. In 04 for example, if you kick for goal off a penalty and you miss but the ball is still in field, the play is dead, like a field goal in American football. It was awful.

I know that stuff has been fixed now but I've just never liked the feel of Rugby on a console.

Do not buy this game. It sucks.

Hired it for PS2, its not awful but its repetitive and quite easy, not worth a buy really.

I rented one of the past ones and was addicted to it for the week I had it.

I just loved running straight at the guy who had the ball and spearing him down to the ground.

Havnt played one since though.
