Wrestling Manager Nominees

Welcome to the first nomination thread for the 1st Annual TPWW Wrestling Hall Of Fame Voting.

The nominations you see here were selected by 11 members of the TPWW Wrestling Forum Committee; Myself, BDC, KOOS, Xero, mrslackalack, NeanderCarl, Loopydate, WWKD, KayfabeMan, Rob and James Steele.

We each selected 4 nominees for each respected category.

The Categories were as follows: Top Level Wrestler, Mid Level Wrestler, Tag Team, Manager and Misc (i.e someone who has contributed a lot to the business that may not fall in the other categories)

Now we pass the torch to the TPWW Community to help elect our first Hall of Famer from this Category. There will be four other categories to follow, in which four more electees will be chosen, completing are Class of 2007

Please cast ONE Vote for this category. At voting close, the top 3 guys will move on to the Final voting for the Veterans Committee. From there, the committee will have a final vote to elect our 1st TPWW Hall of Famer from this category.

So, Let the Voting Begin

land slide coming

KingofOldSchool 07-25-2007 12:19 PM

If I knew it would be THIS bad, I would've placed my vote for Blassie.

Anybody Thrilla 07-25-2007 12:26 PM

Wasted vote

Loose Cannon 07-25-2007 12:28 PM

I'm thinking for these situations, there should be no need for another final vote by the comittee. No point.

FourFifty 07-25-2007 12:30 PM

WHAT THE FUCK!?!?!?!?! ONLY ONE VOTE FOR FREDDIE BLASSIE!?!?!?!?

Anybody Thrilla 07-25-2007 12:35 PM

People love Freddie Blassie. But people REALLY love Bobby Heenan.

This is the kind of thing I was talking about, LC.

Anybody Thrilla 07-25-2007 12:36 PM

Gotta consider the mean age of posters here.

The Fugitive 07-25-2007 12:36 PM

Not much love for Corny.

I also have to wonder if any of those votes for Heenan are the result of someone remembering his announcing career and not his managerial.

Anybody Thrilla 07-25-2007 12:38 PM

The Heenan Family was gold.

FourFifty 07-25-2007 12:39 PM

Okay, so who is the better manager? The man who pissed people off so badly that they yelled and chanted mean things, or the man who pissed people off so badly people stabbed him, threw acid on him, lit his car on fire, and stabbed him again?

yes, I know. I not saying I don't disagree with you on how the votes will turn out. But it's fair to have a mix of wrestling history at least on the ballots as to not skew anything. one of the reasons I wanted WWKD on the committe was he has a great Japanese background on wrestling history.

Maybe some people here might learn something new.

The Fugitive 07-25-2007 12:43 PM

So if a wrestling personality is desired dead over another, he's obviously the better of the two? Is that seriously your argument?

FourFifty 07-25-2007 12:54 PM

Freddie Blassise could make heat even if he was stuck in a solid block of ice (worst metaphor ever). Anyone that was near him would be over. Don't misunderstand, much love to Bobby the Brain and everything he has done, and everything he still does, but I was only going to compaire Blassie to whomever had to most votes.
The Brain is awesome, and is seriously one of a kind. With that in mind, and with all due respect, he's no Freddie Blassie.

Anybody Thrilla 07-25-2007 12:56 PM

People (wrestling fans in particular) were also a lot dumber in the days of Freddie Blassie. If Heenan were around then, who's to say people wouldn't have wanted to kill him?

FourFifty 07-25-2007 01:05 PM

Same thing with Hulkamania, The Austin Era, and WCW's downfall.
It's all a matter of timimg.

I'm not saying that people wouldn't want to kill Bobby. And until we can find a "What If" machine, we'll never know what would have happened if we invtend the thinglonger.

Anybody Thrilla 07-25-2007 01:07 PM

I invented it, but I'm not sharing, because I don't like your attitude right now.

Anybody Thrilla 07-25-2007 01:07 PM

SPOILER: Went back and time and people wanted to kill Bobby Heenan.

Jordan 07-25-2007 01:56 PM

I voted for Sunny cause she is hot.

Read his book. Heenan had major heat. I'd say nearly if not definitely comparable to Blassie's.

He was around before his WWF days, dontchewknow?

Mooияakeя™ 07-25-2007 02:02 PM

Well, Heenan. He owns.

Though I think we can accomodate a few more in time with ease!

SammyG 07-25-2007 02:04 PM

I voted for good ol Jimmy Hart

Loose Cannon 07-25-2007 02:06 PM

Heenan hit 20. Well deserved.

weather vane 07-25-2007 05:04 PM

Should of put women and managers together...

You cannot induct one of each every time.

Rob 07-25-2007 05:06 PM

Who the fuck voted for the man beast?

there's no women category

KingofOldSchool 07-25-2007 05:39 PM

I can't believe Heyman got more votes than Blassie or Roth.

Loose Cannon 07-25-2007 08:00 PM

and that's exactly why I personally wanted a committe of guys who know wrestling history. You can see why in every one of the threads. Can you imagine the nominees had there not been?

Boondock Saint 07-25-2007 11:16 PM

lol @ a vote for Chyna.

Went with Heenan.

Dorkchop 07-25-2007 11:41 PM

Aaaaaaaaaand it's a landslide

KingofOldSchool 07-26-2007 12:04 AM

I can believe CHYNA has more votes than The Grand Wizard of Wrestling.

Sepholio 07-26-2007 12:45 AM

I love Heenan, but for me it came down to Jimmy Hart and Paul Bearer. Figured this one would have been a little closer, really.

Either way, Percy.

The One 07-26-2007 12:48 AM

Heenan Pwns All!

James Steele 07-26-2007 12:56 AM

Did anybody actually think Heenan wouldn't win by an assload? I am more shocked by the "weird votes" than Heenan whipping that ass.

Vastardikai 07-26-2007 01:24 AM

I knew the Brain was getting a shitload of votes, so I went with my second choice: James E. Cornette.

The One 07-26-2007 01:29 AM

I will say I am shocked JJ only has one vote.

Boondock Saint 07-26-2007 04:03 AM

I was torn between JJ and Heenan...flipped a coin.

It was me, and he wasn't even on my nominees list. Sad to say, he didn't occur to me when I was making it.

Speaking of the nominees lists, LC, are you still planning on posting everyone's TT and Manager nominees like you did for the Top Level category?

311 07-26-2007 08:26 PM

J.J. Dillon was money but I think Heenan is a clear choice. J.J. might come soon after, though. :y:
