Ted Turner= Stupid

From www.bravesbeat.com in an interview with former WCW announcer
Tony Schiavone:

6. You've previously worked for former Braves owner Ted Turner. What was your impressions of him in your interactions?

TS: I always thought Ted was quite a character. However, he only addressed WCW once during my years there, and that was back in 1993. However, I ran into him at Turner Field in the tunnel behind the Braves clubhouse last year during the NLDS. I introduced myself (he had no idea who I was) and he let me know how pissed he was that wrestling was no longer on TBS and TNT.

:nono:

Damn that weird. I was just thinking about how if Turner was still in charge WCW would of still exsisted

that shows how much bischoff had to do with the company and if vince was smart he would give him more power.

Bischoff pretty much ran that company from 94'. There's no doubt about that. He is a creative genious in some respects. But it seemed to me that once his golden idea (NwO) had run dry he had a tough time trying to find something new to keep the company fresh. Plus Vince Russo being there didn't help.

All I can say to that is:

Wow.

I agree, Ted Turner simply owned WCW, and hired a brain trust to do a lot of work. He had Bischoff pretty much calling the shots the whole time which brought all the ratings.

I call that smart.

And when WCW went under, Ted Turner was long out of power at AOL/Time Warner. He hired Eric Bischoff and he made that company money for the first time ever in 1996 and then had the biggest money years in pro wrestling ever in 1997 and 1998. How stupid was he again?

Ted misses wrestling?
