I was wondering...

Haven't been on for a while, but who else thinks that HHH will somehow walk out of SummerSlam with a title around his waist?

I have the strong feeling they will either screw Batista or Orton, Orton winning would be awesome, imo.

Knowing the WWE they will probably not go for something that the fans like, so i see HHH doing a run in or something and screw Orton for the title...

Anyone?

Orton is one of the guys where I would prefer they keep the belt on Cena.

Meh, haven't really been able to watch wrestling lately, with me being in Holland and shit, but what i have seen made me like Orton again, could also be just me and the pot i have been smoking.

I would prefer to see ANYONE else as Raw champ rather than Cena. Cena's reign has made me so little interested in Raw that I cant remember when I last watched a RAW match. I'd rather see Brooklyn Brawler, Spike Dudley, Ultimate Warrior's Ultimate Testicle or anyone else be the champ.

Shame on you for making it sound like only one of Warriors testicles has the ultimate testicular power, shame indeed.

He has almost had the title for a year, they should keep it on him for another month or two, drop it at Survivor Series to Triple H or Kennedy.

Sephiroth 08-24-2007 03:18 PM

Meh, i don't know about HHH winning the title, i'm hoping on some good heel action again. HHH was goodness back in the old days.

Then if i would have to choose between, Kennedy or HHH i would rather see HHH with the title.

I don't think Cena should ever lose the title. I mean, they've pushed him this far against all odds why the fuck should he ever lose? Let him break Bruno's seven year reign or whatever it was.

2,803 days to be exact, or yeah, roughly seven and a half years. But just to be clear, John Cena is only on day 342 for his title run, which means we'd basically be in line for another six and a half more years if they fallowed through with your idea.

The One 08-24-2007 10:00 PM

Oh and while we're on the topic, John Cena is STILL in the midst of only the 9th longest reign. Bruno and Hogan both had two reigns longer than his, and Nash, Savage, Pedro and Backlund all had longer reigns as well...

mrslackalack 08-24-2007 10:09 PM

Cena has been WWE Champ for a little over 25 of the last 29 months. (save for Edges 3 week and 2 and a half month reign and RVDs brief time with the title)

Pardeep 619 08-24-2007 10:48 PM

Isn't Cena apparently the 5th longest reigning champion of all time (including the times of all the runs he has had as champion)?

True, but those still count as breaks in title reigns. Therefore, this reign (which is his longest) is still only the 9th longest in history...

Yeah if you combine all of his reigns and compare it to other people with combined reigns he's 5th...but he still is only at 755 days total as WWE Champion, and while that's a LOT, it's still a massive difference from Bruno's combined two reigns of 4,040 days (That's slightly over 11 years people...). Assuming Cena retires/semi-retires at around his late 30's (which is the standard in today's industry) he would have to hold the title basically nonstop until he was 39 to match Bruno's total time with the belt.

Face it, Cena is not going to have the longest, nor the longest combined reigns...it is simply next to impossible to break Bruno's records in today's faster paced world, not to mention, frequent (by comparison) title switches. Cena MIGHT pass Hogan, but even there, he'd still need a little shy of 4 more years holding the belt to accomplish that...

mrslackalack 08-24-2007 11:29 PM

The One knows his title linage.

mrslackalack 08-24-2007 11:33 PM

If you look at the NWA World Title. Flair had multple reigns with the title. But if you look at all the guys that held the title between Flairs reigns from Sept 1981 to GAB 90. He held the title 8 of those 9 years while the other reigns combined for about a year.

Between September 17, 1981 and September 8, 1991 Flair had 9 of his 10 NWA World Title reigns (his 10th and final being after he returned from WWF). During that time Ric Flair was *Officially* champion 3,008 days. Which means that in that entire decade there were 644 days that Flair did not hold the belt.

***Unofficially***Ric Flair lost (in one way or another) the title four times (To Rhodes, Veneno, Calon and Jovica) which would add somewhere around 20 to 27 days (different accounts say different dates).

...god I need a life...

The One 08-24-2007 11:54 PM

By the way, Flair never passed Thesz's record as most combined time holding the title. And Flair's longest reign of 793 days is only the 8th longest in history.

mrslackalack 08-24-2007 11:57 PM

You should write a book about complete title histories One. All the lineages, history of it, diff designs, unsual facts, unknown stuff, etc.

The One 08-25-2007 12:03 AM

Meh, no one would buy it. You can easily find almost any fact or dates of any wrestling title online somewhere. Basically I just have a file folder of Word Documents on my computer with all the important titles, their histories, record facts, etc. on them...it took me a weekend to compile all the NWA, WWE, WCW, ECW, TNA, AWA, CMLL and AAA championship info...

Anyone who's interested could find all that out on their own without paying a cent...that's what I did...

mrslackalack 08-25-2007 12:06 AM

Foley, Dusty, and Giant Baba prolly have the shortest combined world title reigns for some1 who has held the title multiple times. I think each held a world title 3 times each.

The One 08-25-2007 12:22 AM

Off the top of my head, I can't think of anyone who would beat out Baba's record of 3 reigns combined to only equal 18 days. If you count Chris Jericho's reigns with the WCW (later renamed to simply World Title for the month between Survivor Series and Vengeance) than he held the title for 15 days and unified it, or basically merged it into the WWE Title...so if the title's history stops on that day (which most accounts claim) he held the belt for 2 reigns combined equalling 16 days. If you don't count those as WCW reigns, than DDP spent the least amount of combined total days with multiple reigns holding the belt 3 times over 29 days...

As for the WWE Championship, you were correct, Mick Foley had three reigns spanning 47 days. Which, to WWE's credit, if they gave the belt to someone multiple times, they usually at least let them run with it one time.

And if you care at all, ECW's least amount of time with multiple reigns goes to Jimmy Snuka with two reigns lasting 79 days. However it should be noted that there are 10 people with only one reign that lasted less and one person with a single reign that tied 79 days.

It's true. I'd rather see the Miz as champ.
