World in Conflict.
http://www.worldinconflict.com/
So I randomly see an ad for this game on some random website I was on. Do some looking around on it, read about it, seems pretty good. Download the demo, and im blown away(People who liked Ground Control 2 will LOVE this game). There's only one level in the single player for the demo, but my god, I haven't wanted a level to not end in a game since I played Company of Heroes. Squads and units have conversations when idle, which is awesome, just because one of the convo's is about wrestling, and the last line it in is "The day they put a naked oil'd up fat guy in the ring is the day I stop watching". I got a good laugh about that. |
Downloaded the demo, and I absolutely love it. This is the game Command and Conquer: Generals wanted to be. I've got to get the full game when it's released.

So this is out.
It's as awesome as I thought it was gonna be. Campaign is fucking amazing, kinda short, but not complaining. Just like Company of Hero's campaign mode, brilliantly done. Love the story telling in between levels and in levels, and come one, Alec Baldwin doing the narrating between levels reeks of awesomeness. |
what is it?
|
I dunno, you could maybe click the link in the first post.
|
I did. I don't want to waste time downloading demos for shit I have no clue about.
You could maybe not be a fucking douchebag when hyping a game. |
To answer your question, KK, the game's a real-time strategy set in the late 80s, right around the end of the Cold War. However, instead of collapsing, the Soviet Union instead decides to go for broke and launches an all-out invasion into Western Europe and finally into the United States.
The basic story has been done before (Red Alert 1 & 2), but the gameplay is absolutely fantastic. Plus, it's selling pretty cheap. |
