Best and Worst Support Acts you've seen.
Best - I'd have to say Auf Der Maur, though she did annoy me at times.
Worst - Most of the support acts I have seen have been piss poor, but the Worst Support Act Award has to go to Cave In. Some of the most overrated, piss twaddle, dull, crud-munched stuff I have ever heard. After 45 minutes of suffering their tripe, I was ready to throw myself off the balcony (but sadly for most of you, I did not). I'd have to say they spolit my evening, but the Foo's kinda made up for it, that, and after Cave In had left, Sabbath and Judas Priest were played over the PA to help us recover. |
You die now.
Worst were easily Sugarcoma... utter garbage, and trust me, they're not going to be dethroned from this position anytime soon. Best... hmm, tough one, but it'd probably go to Cult Of Luna, who were immense. |
Best - Anthrax, supporting Motorhead... November 2002
Worst - Skew Siskin, supporting Anthrax/Motorhead... November 2002. |
Or FFAF supporting Iron Maiden last December... seriously mis-booked band.
|
Worst: Recognizer (supporting Off-fest)
Best: Easily Tegan and Sara (Supporting Ferrick) or Dave Carter and Tracy Grammer (supporting the neilds) I've never even heard the Neilds, I only went to the show for Dave and tracy. |
Best - Bigwig supporting No Use For A Name
Worst - Planes Mistaken For Stars supporting the Ataris. I know a lot of people like them but they didn't suit the gig at all and they really weren't my thing. |
Best - This is hard, seen so many.I'd probably have to say Straylight Run supporting Brand New, Brand New supporting Finch or Hed PE supporting Papa Roach.
Worst - I can't remember a name but some band that supporeted Spineshank, can't remember there name but they were signed to Roadrunner. |

Best - Snow Patrol supporting Athlete

I've actually only been to 1 gig ever (none come this way) I've seen loads of bands at Reading but only Muse elsewhere :(
Therefore WORST support act = Elbow Truly awful boring band |
Can't think of a best one.
The worst was some band called The Planets who supported Deep Purple, they were poor anyway but to put what was more-or-less an orchestra on before a Rock band was pretty stupid booking.:| |
Best - Pantera, supporting Black Sabbath
Worst - I had to sit through Static X when I seen Slayer once. God, those guys suck. |
Best- Revis, supporting Ev @ Fusion Tour 8/6/03 (Possibly to be dethroned by Mars Volta??)
Worst- Cauterize, supporting Ev (same show) |
Best - Piebald supporting Dashboard Confessional
Worst - MXPX...supporting Dashboard Confessional :-\ |
worst - elbow (at muse too)
best - auf der maur |
Best - Red Hot Chili Peppers supporting U2
Worst - Can't remember their name but they supported White Stripes at Blackpool |
Worst - Green Day supporting Blink..should have been the other way around. Green Day put on a show 10x better then Blink did that night.
Best - EASILY Hopesfall supporting The Juliana Theory. |

shit. i've seen a few crappy supports. top of the pile is definately schism who supported akaline trio and then yellowcard. simply terrible. :|
best supports... probably brand new with finch. straylight run supporting brand new and the times i've seen sugarcult with reel big fish and good charlotte have been great. |
Too many best supporting acts... Saves the Day opening for Weezer, Reggie & the Full Effect supporing Alk3, Taking Back Sunday supporting Saves the Day, Brand New opening for Dashboard off the top of my head.
Worst, I dunno maybe Casey Scores a goal who opened for the Get Up Kids at a college show last year. |
The best support group I saw has to be a tie between High on Fire and Isis.
Both were amazing when I saw them (at different times) opening up for the Melvins. The worst would have to be The Dwarves when I saw them open up for Motorhead. Honestly, how many times can you scream and repeat "yyyyyyeahhhhhhhhhhhhh, fuuuuuuuuuuuck yeahhhhh, yeahhhhhhhhhh" I wanted to rip my ears off during their set. I'd rather see Melt Banana. |

Wish I'd gone and saw High On Fire when they toured over here now... |
They were awesome.
I must say though, I was disappointed in their set when they opened up for Motorhead. They played about 5 songs and were the first band. They were good but the set was wayyyy too short. They were the first band on the bill, they were before the DWARVES. I wanted to shoot somebody |
Best: Dry Kill Logic
Worst: The Coral |
Best:
Green Day supporting Blink 182 Saves The Day supporting Green Day and Blink 182 Queens of the Stone Age supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers Taking Back Sunday supporting Saves The Day Worst: This loud ass band that played before The Ataris one time |

best-Ted Nugent/Kenny Wayne Shepherd supporting ZZ Top
worst-dont know |

You need help. :( |
Worst - InMe supporting Deftones. Man, they *died*
Best - Ionno, I went to the APC show and completely missed anyone who might've been supporting, that was a good one ;) |

They got dropped by Roadrunner and haven't been heard of since. :o
But yes, Three Inches of Blood, much better, if you ignore the fact they seem like they're taking the piss. |
best would have to be STP supporting Red Hot Chili Peppers
worst would be a tie between Staind opening for STP and Element Eighty opening for Sevendust. Both brutal performances. |
Best: Hmm, 3rd Strike opening for Adema were pretty good. So were Ruby Horse for Flickerstick.
Worst: Whoever opened for APC. :n: |
Best: Linkin Park.....Supporting Metallica on the Summer Sanitarium Tour
Worst: Jo Dee Masina......Supporting Clay Walker (Thats right...I went to a country concert) |
Considering the fact that I usually don't care about the headlining band, this is basically a "Best and worst bands you've seen" post.
Best: Children of Bodom by light years. Worst: The Black Dahlia Murder. |
best-Fishbone BYFAR
They could have headlined easily.. worst-n/a Working the the bar buisness I've seen some prtty shitty bands.. Puddle of Mud is opening for Kid Rock Friday night and they suck.. I guess I'll just say Puddle of Mud... |
