RIP. :'( I'm not a big opera fan, but Pavarotti simply has an amazing voice. This is him at the 2006 winter olympics. <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZaufjDVYivc"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/ZaufjDVYivc" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object> |
Gotta give the man credit for remaining a celebrity even in a field of music that the mainstream doesn't care about.
RIP to one of the greatest vocalists of all time. |
Can't say I liked Opera much either, but he did have one of the best voices out there RIP

Magnificent voice. RIP.

RIP
Probably the greatest voice we'll hear in our lifetime. |
RIP. :(
Funny, I was reading an article about him not all that long ago, and I remember reading his age and being quite surprised he was as old as he was. I think it may even have been about the state of his health. A terrible loss for the world of music. |
RIP

Pavoratti is someone I could never really like musically, but could readily appreciate. As already said, he deserves credit for having crossover appeal in a genre that most people can't really stomach or stand. He had a powerful voice, and one that was recognisable.

You know, I was watching the news before I went to bed the night before he died, and they said he was in poor health. Then I wake up and flip on the news, and they said he was dead.
RIP. Amazing voice. |
