Favourite Iron Maiden Vocalist

Who is your favourtie vocalist out of Bruce Dickinson or Paul Di'Anno (did the first two Maiden albums).

For me it has to be Di'Anno, I have listened to a lot of Maiden albums but nothing can beat the very first one. Prowler is one of the best Maiden tunes and Di'Anno's vocals help make it a classic. I listened to a live version with Dickinson signing it and he murdered it. Then you get the awesomeness that is Strange World. After listening to the original that often, I don't think Dickinson's vocals would suit the song at all (if there is a live version with Dickinson's vocals, I would like to hear it so let me know what album is is on)

Im not saying that Dickinson is a bad vocalist, I have enjoyed most of the Maiden albums that he has done vocals for. But I just think that..

Paul Di'Anno > Bruce Dickinson

Discuss and vote Maiden fans...

I bet Blaze Bayley feels very offended right about now.

Not that there's really serious competition there, but y'know, completeness and all.

The thing is Di' Anno's songs were made for him and his voice. Which is why Dickinson's versions won't live up to the challenge. But noone can come close to the energy Dickinson puts into his songs. We could also argue that his voice was more unique. Bruce gets my vote.

Anyway Bruce > everyone.

Bruce
Paul
Blaze

all awesome at their own stuff, but Bruce can do pretty much anything from the catalogue well.

Probably Blaze's best performance, definately while singing a Bruce-era song, at least.

I love the one where Blaze chucks a wobbly and wants to fight the crowd

Dickinson.

My old college teacher use to be in a band with Di'Anno... That was pretty cool.

Bruce Dickinson

Blaze just has a wicked awesome rad name. If Blaze is his real name, I give him props.

Paul Di'Anno came here a few months ago and played in the shittiest place in Thunder Bay.
