John Cena: Like or Hate
In the beginning it seemed everyone loved Cena. Now time has passed and people have begun to hate him. But no matter how much Cena bashing I hear on these forums their is always one or two guys that still back Cena up.
So here is the question... Do you like or hate Cena? |
I like and support Cena himself. I honestly believe he could have led the Attitude Era just as well as Austin and Rock did.
What I hate is the way he's booked. Creative is a bunch of spineless monkeys writing for Vince's pleasure and don't know how to book anyone strongly without having him completely dominate and almost never lose. |
I like, no, LOVE him.
The person, the wrestler, or the push?
As a person I have a world of respect for him. After hearing about how he talked to a fan who held a "If Cena Wins We Riot" sign and how Cena was a good sport about it, he's gold in my eyes. As a wrestler, he's better than Hogan, but he has the Five Moves Of Doom thing going on like Bret Hart had, only not as cool. His push is what annoys me. The superman push for a year is fucking stupid. No one today should have that kind of push. |
I choose option three. No strong opinion either way.
Seems like a good person, but I hate the way he is booked, especially the 5 million overcome the odds storylines. He doesnt have the best matches but can pull off a great match with the right person like the 55 min match with HBK on RAW and some of his matches with Angle.
I choose option 3 as well.
The only thing I really have against him is his weak-as-piss-looking offence. I don't particularly like how he's booked sometimes but that's nothing to do with the guy himself. He seems like the model pro and a classy guy. Wrestling could do with more John Cena types.
I hate him in the ring and on the mic, and I hate his ridiculous push even more.
YOUR Hero likes him.

Cena's got all the skills. We saw that he could go places. We all loved him because his heelish face was awesome, his freestyles got him over, and he was solid, if nothing amazing in the ring. I love Cena the "person." Then they changed him to a kissass, boring babyface, and then turned him into a superman. I dislike Cena the "wrestler." And cramming him down our throats? When he's being booed by half the crowd? When the ratings are tanking? This last week, they dropped below three again. This is bad. I fucking despise Cena, the "push." |
I chose "Hate" only because I didn't see "I don't give a shit about him."
Like I said in the past, he's okay just as long as he doesn't try to be funny.
I believe without Cena, the ratings would be even worse off.

I choose "like" because he's better than Batista and Khali, but his superman push is ridiculous, and he'd be much better in a dominating heel role, instead of a underdog face.
I like him.

I like him as a worker, and love him as a person. The guy loves his job, and it shows. He's a phenominal face for the company and everything I've ever seen he goes above and beyond for the fans and people in general.
The magnitude of his push and blandness of his character (both issues with the writing staff) however, I'm not a huge fan of though it could be worse. |
Cena has improved a lot over the years.
Personally I think the booking of this angle with Orton is great as he’s going down more of a psycho route where he doesn’t care about authority, but it’s justified, he attacked Coach because of what he allowed to happen to his Father, he did it with the knowledge he would lose the title and just went with his emotions. I know it’s re-hashing Austin/McMahon again, but he’s an ok actor and I’m digging this feud, Orton is playing the perfect prick to Cena’s hero right now. What ruined him in the eyes of the smarks was the poop jokes, it’s the same thing that could happen to HHH if he keeps going down the same route, that’s not his fault. But to be fair, He stopped being comedy Cena a few months back, probably from the Lashley feud onwards As for his matches, by no means classic and his selling at times is questionable, he’s more than capable of giving us passable matches each night, he’s never going to be having 5 star classics all the time, but to be fair, not many of the guys they pic to be champion, can or do. It’s more about the drawing power, pure wrestlers don’t draw and getting the mix is hard. Angle had it, Bret Had it, but neither of them were as big a draw as Cena IMO, the guys who are considered to be in the same overall bracket are guys like Rocky, now are the time everyone was saying what a shit wrestler he was, because he had 5 moves of doom and that’s it, but he did alright for himself in the end. |
Way to oversimplify, Youell.
I hate to say this but I like him. There I said.

--- That better? |
I'm complacent with Cena and his push.
I like John Cena. I hate his push and his title reign.
He is entertaining. I sorta like him, but yeah. I'm not a fan.
Can't stand Cena, having beat Edge in a tlc match, Benoit in a submission match, and beating Jericho in his last match. I still blame him for Benoit.
I quite like the fact most people seem to be liking him now though, it should mean wwe will take the title off him if the IWC like him! |

I do too, but I still think he's a great talent and can be a great asset if booked properly, like 80% of the roster. |
I hate slow.
Don't hate him because he's slow.
I think that's racist.

I hate Cena "wrestler" because he could honestly be so much more. I mean for fuck's sake for a man that ripped he should be able to do more than 5 moves. I hate his booking like everyone else here because I dont believe superman could hold the title this long. As a person I somewhat respect him for not being an ass to both his haters and his fans.
He's okay.
Anyway, I voted hate because there are only two options. I'm assuming we're talking about on Screen Cena.
And on Screena, I'd like to see job to a steamroller.
I like him.
