My friend and I were actually discussing this during work today...except for a Mallrats 2.

We figured all the original cast could return. Non of them are really big enough to not come back for a sequel except for Shannon Elizabeth and Ben Affleck...and you really dont need them. You can Shannons character gone or something or have already broken up with the lead guy so she isnt mentioned besides that. And Affleck could just be shown in a scene where they talk about how he got arrested. Then they could show like a paper with a picture of him with some funny headline on it.

I would like to see Mallrats 2 before a Clerks 3 but I dont think either of the two will happen. Althought Smith has said numourous times that they have completed a Clerks animated movie (along the same thing as the TV series) that they are just waiting to release.
