Denzel as a heel is the goods

Saw the trailer a while back, looks like it will be pretty amazing.

I've been hoping for years that someone would do a decent portrayal of some of the Harlem kingpins from the mid 20th century that wasn't saturated in glitz and glamour, attempting to be a comedy or just generally tongue in cheek, hopefully this is it.

Also if this film doesn't have a ridiculously good soundtrack I'll be highly disappointed, hopefully its all stuff from the 1970's too.

Pretty ridiculous ensemble, no idea how big all of the above's roles will be, would be cool to see Polito and Elba get some decent airtime though

Gooding is playing Nicky Barnes apparently, that cat deserves a film all of his own

Armand Assante... Christ, when i think of him all that comes to mind is bloody Judge Dredd, and his bad acting. I hope he has improved since then.

Judge Dredd was just generally awful though

Idris Elba is " Stinger " isnt he? If so, he's awsome.

I cant wait for this movie. Denzel and Russel Crowe. Are you kidding me? Thats a modern day Pacino De Niro imo.

Armande Asante has been great in alot of movies. I think he fits this movie perfectly.

Is that TI that says "I want what you got, Uncle Frank", in the trailer??

This looks really, really good. I smell possibly another Oscar for Denzel.

Cuba Gooding Jr won an oscar you know....and he was in rat race and radio and daddy day camp or whatever...can't wait.

Saw it tonight.

It was amazing imo. Denzel was the perfect role for this. Crowe had an awesome role too. Some of the statstics they gave at the end of the movie were amazing too.

Downloaded a DVD screener of it and it's DVD quality. :cool:

Great movie, had no idea it was a true story until it was over though. Pretty nuts

Quite possibly my favorite movie of the year. This is going to be one of my top picks for a long time to come. One of Denzel's best performances. Probably one of Crowe's better ones (not quite best, but very good).

I saw it last night, it was long and a little confusing toward the beginning, but a very good movie.

Yeah, it was pretty long for a movie that didn't always have alot going on.

Great movie. Another oscar worthy performance for Denzel and another epic for Scott.

Solid movie.

But really, Denzel is the most overrated actor ever. Dude has no range. He just plays "Denzel Washington" in almost every film.

I haven't seen this movie yet and Denzel is a good actor but yeah I can't get over the fact that he's Denzel lol. I guess he doesn't need to be anyone else.

Good stuff. Started off a bit slow but picks up when he goes to Thailand.

Denzel's range pretty much consists of facial hair, partial facial hair, gotee, clean shaved.

But i love him anyways.

It was a prety awesome movie, it was a long movie but didn't feel like it.

One thing I didn't get, and no it's not a spoiler. But there was a 30 second scene where he buys a grand piano. Maybe I missed something but wtf was the point of that scene.

He buys the apartment the grand piano is in.

Ah...but even then, was that necessary?

That was him buying class - and then he uses it to smash that dudes head in.

Just finished watching it - awesome.

BTW I like Denzel, but Russell Crowe totally stole the show.
