|
ok :shifty:
On topic, Festus is funny with that personality changing at the bell. |
Who are these people?
|
Jesse is a poor mans Mr. Perfect wannabe.
But they have time to grow on me and change ma mind. |
The gimmick looks like it has a bit of mileage, and the two guys are not bad workers at all.
so that means that they will be jobbed out in 10 seconds next week. |

To be perfectly honest, this is the single best gimmick I've seen in a long damn time. It's unique without being a stereotype (Highlanders/Cryme Tyme), it's not cinematic (BoD/Hurri-Team) and they're not "just guys" (Hardys / E and C).
The bell ring is genius, and whoever thought of such a simple trick needs a raise. |
It's not bizarre as a WWE storyline. Like we've seen less credible things, right? MAY 19TH!!!
|
Fuck you
|
I just watched their debut online, and I had seen a couple of their building up promos before I fall asleep watching the old Blue, and I can honestly say I think it's fucking retarded, but as far as fucking retarded things go, it's at least the most entertaining of the retarded things WWE is doing...
That sentence made me want to stick a finger in my eye socket and scramble my own brain. |
I think it's pretty stupid that they're bringing in the son of Terry Gordy as "Jesse Dalton." I mean, maybe that's just me. That's my real complaint with the whole thing. Also, as harmless as "Imposter Kane" Freakin' Deacon may be (he might actually be competent), I don't have any particular desire to watch him wrestle.
SmackDown! needs tag teams, though. I think this gimmick would be so much better if they had Ray Gordy try and put together a team to rival the Freebirds, and had him pull "Festus" out of nowhere, and turn him into a tag team superstar, like his father would have. I must say that Festus knows how to play a character, though (his mannerisms as Fake Kane were also great), and Jesse seems to have his promo skills down, and I'm sure he's good in the ring. This gets a "shitty idea, but the performers might make it work" seal of apathy from me. |
The one match I've seen (against CK3  ) was pretty good.
|
I keep thinking that says Fetus
|
<font color=goldenrod>I'm looking forward to Festus dominating against Deuce and Domino or someone, he's about to win...then Cherry rings the bell on her own, rendering Festus retarded as DnD get the win</font>
|
I have high standards for any second or third gen wrestler, and I'd like to see more Ray Gordy.
As of Festus, I dig it. I totally dig it. It's the perfect set up for a heel team to screw with them. |

That would honestly be a lot of fun, and would be the great kick-off to a feud, as Ray tries to cover up Festus' weakness. |

Imagine a skit where The Daltons are backstage and like a Salvation Army guy is outside ringing his bell. Festus keeps snapping over and over tossing stage hands around. |

I'm not sure, but have D&D ever used Cherry's skate as a weapon on SmackDown!? I'm actually liking the way they haven't used it yet. Once Jesse & Festus win the belts, they can hold onto them for a few weeks, and then in a match with Deuce N' Domino...crack! Skate over the head, D&D win back the WWE Tag Team Championship. Then the story evolves into "Can Jesse & Festus avoid the skate?" Of course, they find a way around it, and win back the WWE Tag Team Championship (just in time to lose it to a combination from Dave Taylor's new stable). |
They're not bad... but I need to wait until I see them against a proper team and not a bunch of jobbers.
