I miss The Rock

SammyG 10-20-2007 02:08 AM

Know your damn role, and shut your damn mouth.

road doggy dogg 10-20-2007 02:09 AM

Seriously, The Rock vs Mankind is my all-time favourite feud ever, no question

SammyG 10-20-2007 02:10 AM

Nervous Ferret 10-20-2007 02:17 AM

i disagree andy the gnat was the best wrestler ever

RVDmark 10-20-2007 08:17 AM

Cheers for that vid RDD. Was a great 10 minutes.

IC Champion 10-20-2007 02:24 PM

I with RDD for the most part.

Foley and Rock are both great.

Jeritron 10-20-2007 05:28 PM

Foley was key to getting The Rock over, just as he was a year later for HHH

The Naitch 10-20-2007 05:43 PM

The Rock is the greatest of all-time

HE'S A MILLIONAIRE

HE'S THE WWF CHAMP

Johnny Vegas 10-21-2007 12:17 AM

He basically had it all. no, he wasn't "technical" or anything, but he was larger than life and i don't think he realizes how big he really was.

Got it in one. There were probably better workers than him but Rock was that good he rarely ever had a bad match. His promos were always the best as well and hiliarious most of the time. The first Rock Concert he did was the best thing he ever did.

He didn't need technical skills, thankfully.

I would have liked more move variety from him, but considering WWE "protects" its stars by having them do the smallest moveset possible....

While he did only have 5 moves and little techinical skills, he didn't need them. Rock was one of the best workers ever, not in terms of technical workers, but in terms on working a match properly and ring physcology.

I mean people went nuts over a fucking ELBOW for god's sakes. Never in the history of the sport of pro-wrestling will people ever pop like that for a simple elbow drop. That isnt by coincidence, Rocky knew how to work the crowd and have the fans either really cheer and get behind him, or he could have them boo him like he's the biggest heel in wrestling.

The Rock would get off 3 or 4 quick punches, look at his hand, spit, lay the smacketh downeth, and the people would go sucking insane, over 4 or 5 punches.

Not to mention he was arguably the best seller of his time, sure he over-sold, but he didn't do it in the way that made his oppenant look stupid, even anything it made them look good.

And not to mention he was the best Promo man ever.

Nobody sold the Stunner as good as the Rock did.

OverTaker 10-21-2007 04:30 PM

I love it when Rock spits on the fans socko at the end.

road doggy dogg 10-21-2007 04:39 PM

They need to release a DVD of the Rock/Mankind feud. Would be like my favourite DVD ever :'(

BigDaddyCool 10-21-2007 06:07 PM

The writing was so much better, plus Rock ruled so hard.

DAMN iNATOR 10-22-2007 12:35 PM

Here’s to “The People’s Champ”...

Mr. Nerfect 10-22-2007 08:02 PM

I never really liked The Rock watching him, to be honest. But given today's WWE climate, I'd probably trade off half the roster to get him back.

Especially in comparison to guys like John Cena, who try so hard to connect with crowds, but ultimately fail to have any real kind of charisma. Honestly, the closest we have come in recent years has been Batista.

2:42 - 2:30 - AMAZING.

Xero 10-23-2007 03:47 PM

Shit wrestler, great entertainer, right place, right time.

Poop jokes aplenty, unfortunately.

IC Champion 10-23-2007 03:59 PM

The Rock was amazing and you know it, don't hate Xero.

Xero 10-23-2007 04:04 PM

He was sub-par. Cena could have EASILY replaced him.

Yeah, I said it.

Good for a promo and that's about it - and they were Cena-childish at times. Unfortunately talking isn't the only thing you need to entertain me.

IC Champion 10-23-2007 04:08 PM

Xero is dead to me.

lol. I love that Scott Hall stunner. The elevation is impossible. just how he does it is amazing. I swear some radar centre's picked him up when he left the ground and some 737 pilots shit themselves.

Exactly. Both Hardy's, MVP, 'Taker, HBK, Flair, and a ton of others, have way more charisma than Batista right now

But... Batista shakes the ropes ! !
