Rate The Wrestler Returns!
 

3 And A Half years ago, we embarked on an quest, to determine who was pure gold when it came to wrestling and who just deserved to get the hell off our televisions screens, and for 200 days we went thru the best and worst of professional wrestling, We were apart of Rate The Wrestler, well tonight, it makes it return after two years, with an new twist, we re-evalute the wrestlers we then loved, and see if they still have it, we also will re-grade the wrestlers we through were pure shit to see if they have improved there game since then, while new faces will finally get to be apart of something that hopes to return to it's former glory. Tonight Rate The Wrestler returns, but of course, It has dealt with it's share of nay sayers.

It's dealt with it's share of imitations

But now we finally begin on Rate The Wrestler, and we will see which workers have gotten there shit together, and which works have taken the fall from grace..

The First Wrestler to be re-graded will be "The Phenomenal" A.J Styles, who scored an 89 the first time around, and ended up finishing tied for 8th place overall out of 200, Will AJ prove he was worth all the love, or will we show him, that he is simply...not phenomenal?

One of the better spot monkies, but he's still a spot monkey. 5 because at least he's good at what he does, even if it's shit.

2-3 years ago, he had so much potential. Now he seems to be stuck in mid card hell...in TNA of all places. Seems like he's been found out for exactly what he is...a glorified (to quote Destor) spot monkey.

I thought his initial heel turn and his feud with Rhino was great... but now he's just stuck being a nobody who has lost all of his "self professed big name, big time star with a cocky attitude" in favour of "stupid lackey".

He plays stupid lackey well, mind you... but he can do better.

He's good and his style, but Styles' style sucks.

I could think of worse as well. Thus I said he was average/alright i.e. 5

I like AJ, I never liked him before, but since turning heel he has actually shown personality and charactor development.

He's better than your average super generic masked wrestler.

6 - Improved his intangibles over the last few years, displaying character and charisma for the first time, but as a heel still wrestles like a babyface, showing his lack of dexterity.

He plays the dumbass sidekick heel very well. He's sorta a spot monkey but he is more rounded than the typical spot monkey.

That was what I posted in 2004, back before I learnt a fewer finer points of professional wrestling since then, So here will be my re-done rating, note just because I know the finer points of wrestling, doesn't mean I cater to them, Remember, I can still be a mark for spot monkey wrestling

Ring Ability: 7 - AJ is not an technical wrestler by any means, and does lack things that are needed in an professional wrestler, however when it comes to High Flying, He is great, now granted Styles does use alot of spots, like the Pal'e, The Moonsault Inverted DDT. Styles has began to finally craft the art of selling, and not purely being an spot wrestler, Sorry to say AJ, the IWC community has rubbed off on me, so your 10 I gave you here has disappeared, however I will never tell you to get the Fuck off my TV Screen.


Overness: 8 - You were once an household name in TNA and since all the former WWE Wrestlers have came in, you been pushed to the back burner, however everyone who knows a little about TNA knows your name, but yet doesn't know you're an former Three Time NWA-TNA World Heavyweight Champion, and we have forgotten that you put the X-Division on the map, because we just tend to not listen to anything Don West and Mike Tenay say, but that's not your fault. But you have proven that you are indeed over however, So I salute you!

Archivements: 9 - You done things in America that an lightweight worker hasn't ever been allowed to do, You have worked in all the major North America promotions other then the original ECW, and have won championships in 2 out of the 4 that you appeared in, including being the first Pure Champion in RoH, which most of us have forgotten you ever done, as well as being an 3 Time NWA Champion, Several Time Tag Champion, and god knows how many X-Division Title Reigns you had when it actually meant something to be in the X-Division, AJ you may have been forgotten since Angle has showed up in the promotion, but however buddy, you will always be known as MR. TNA!

Work Rate: 6 - Sorry, I do hate to say it, you are an Spot Monkey, but you have been working on improving that, Atleast you are known as the guy who is trying to stop being an spot monkey, but until then, You will be known as the King Of The Spot Monkeys.

Mic Work/Charisma: 7 - AJ before I never really had heard you on the mic, or on seen you cut an promo, but now I can say that I have, And if this was done an year ago, you would of gotten an very low score on this, however while I don't think you should be an lackey, You seem to be playing the role reasonly well. So here an 7 for being the Stevie Richards of TNA.

Finisher: 9 - Still an mark for the Styles Clash
