Is it true that basses don't like to be downtuned?
This sees like one of those "common sense gone awry" deals, but honestly, I'd just as soon not fuck up my bass. It's not a great bass, but as bass isn't even my primary instrument, I'd just as soon not have to buy a new one (Or repair this one) because I fucked up the neck.

But you have an IQ of 150 why cant you figure it out

I've never had a problem with mine. I've heard that rumor before but never seen it happen nor known somebody it happened to.
|
Hmmmm...Someone actually knows what they're talking about. :y:

A remember a few years back there was a trend for nu-metal bands trying to be uber-heavy would use 5 and 6 string basses in order to fit with the horibble down tuned sounds they produced but I can't ever recall hearing about it being bad for the guit on a 4-string:-\ I wouldn't go too low anyway though, it'll just sound shite

Guitars tend to sound like shit then, too. Hence the rise of these like 18 string guitars to go with the 8 string basses. I know they're not really 18 stringers, but they do tend to have 2-3 extra strings below low A. It's almost as pretentious as a 12 string, which is almost as pretentious as a lute. |
Man, I have to learn how to play bass alot better.
|
I play like shit. :D
Oh, I'm not horrible, I'm just not a master or even close. |
Lets blow some fucking windows out!

Hmmm...My neighbor, upstairs, who always bitches about the noise, is blaring his TV again.
I think I just might blow some windows out. :D |
