Who's better, Bobby "The Brain" Heenan? or Paul Heyman?

My vote goes to Mr. ECW

Innovator 03-04-2004 12:52 PM

I go for The Brain, his stuff in the 80's and 90's was pure gold

The Forgotten One 03-04-2004 12:53 PM

Heenan.

Paranoid Rattlesnake 03-04-2004 12:59 PM

I was a bigger fan of wrestling during heymans reign as a commentator than when heenan was at the helm which is why I pumped for heyman. More of a casual fan back in the day, didn't really watch wrestling religiously until like 98 but i've seen alot of the older stuff

Both top quality though

The Brain

BasicThuganomics 03-04-2004 02:11 PM

As a commentator, Heenan should be considered the all time greatest IMO. He was never bad, and always was entertaining.

But Heyman is probably better in other areas than Heenan is.

Arashi Kage 03-04-2004 02:11 PM

No contest --> The Brain.

Heyman is great in this era of no managers, but you can't put him in the same league as Bobby Heenan.

Shaggy 03-04-2004 02:36 PM

Heenan was pure greatness. Everyone should take lessons from him,

Corndad 03-04-2004 02:54 PM

Hands down... gotta be Bobby "the Brain" Heenan

Noone was funnier and his interactions w/ Monsoon and Mcmahon were priceless

SuperSlim 03-04-2004 03:34 PM

can't beat the original

Swordkata 03-04-2004 03:41 PM

The way the "Brain" would cut down the wrestlers he disliked was priceless..
Heenen lays the smack down on Heyman, hands down..

DaveBrawl 03-04-2004 03:59 PM

Bobby "The Brain"

EazyMack 03-04-2004 04:17 PM

Bobby Heenan.

Rob 03-04-2004 04:24 PM

Bobby Heenan by a mile. Heyman isn't even second in my opinion. Jim Cornette is better too.

Razor Rybek 03-04-2004 04:42 PM

While I have always found Heyman very entertaining, Nothing beats the pure class of Bobby :y:

The Show Off 03-04-2004 05:50 PM

Heyman = good
Heenan = more gooder

*someone out there has to get this refrence*

Corkscrewed 03-04-2004 06:39 PM

As great as Heyman is, Heenan has him beat by a landslide.

SukkaChump 03-04-2004 07:47 PM

i dont think heyman has the one liner capabilities as the brain, so i go for the brain, I mean "look! hes trying to escape through the window!" was a classic on the brains part

Fryza 03-04-2004 07:55 PM

How can you compare Heyman to Heenen? Heenen, no contest.

Gerard 03-04-2004 08:21 PM

Pffft as a commentator heyman could never come close to filling heenans shoes.

Nowhere Man 03-04-2004 08:32 PM

As much as I like Paul E., no one comes close to The Brain when it comes to unmitigated awesomeness. He was the only person I've ever seen play the role of the heel commentator and not be annoying as hell with it (take notes, Lawler) He was absolutely brilliant as an announcer, especially if there was someone like Mike Tenay he could play off of.

Anyways, Heyman's awesome, but Heenan wins by a mile.

Showstopper 03-04-2004 08:43 PM

Heenan

Vastardikai 03-04-2004 09:37 PM

As good as Heyman is, comparing Bobby Heenan to Paul is like, in Bobby's own words, "comparing Prime Rib to Luncheon Meat."

Gerard 03-04-2004 09:38 PM

What made the then wwf more enjoyable in the early 90's was the duo of heenan and monsoon, if the match was kinda slow heenan and monsoon could play off of each other and just listening to them trade little insults was hilarious. Best commentary team ever imo :(

Excellance of Execution 03-04-2004 10:00 PM

This is a no "Brainer" pardon the pun, but this is really a no contest poll. Bobby "The Brain" Heenan by a large margin. Enough said.

WEASEL! WEASEL! WEASEL! WEASEL! WEASEL!

The Brain

John la Rock 03-05-2004 02:37 AM

I dunno I love Paul Heyman. He can cut promos like no other, knows how to get under a crowds skin, and is one of the best heels of all time. The Brain was very good but I think Heyman is better

Dakota 03-05-2004 02:54 AM

No contest ~ Bobby Heenen was a class act both on camera and off. Paul Heyman is as much of a jerk behind the scenes as he is on Smackdown. I say "BRING BACK STEPHANIE"

c4g2 03-05-2004 11:12 AM

The brain ...

MVP 03-05-2004 02:59 PM

Very tough choice, but I went with Heyman.

Mostly because his antics amuse me more than Heenan's.

Mr.Violent J 03-05-2004 03:10 PM

Although I do greatly respect Heyman and I do think he is a great commentator I have to go with the Brain.

Maybe just because I have so many memories of matches with Heenan doing commentary. Mr. Perfect vs Bret Hart at SS 92'. "Perfect will be in the showers in ten minutes". And Yokozuna vs Lex Luger, Luger body slammed Yoko in the center of the ring. "Hip lock! Hip lock!" Those 2 always spring to mind for some reason.

KayfabeMan 03-05-2004 03:42 PM

No contest at all...Bobby Heenan.

max simon 03-06-2004 08:59 AM

No contest had great memories of listening to The Brain growing up.

The Ravishing One 03-06-2004 09:35 AM

Bobby "The Brain" Heenan

Draven 03-07-2004 09:59 AM

Heenan

The Mackem 03-07-2004 09:59 AM

For the Brain scan

Lamuella 03-07-2004 12:20 PM

Heenan is easily the best manager of all time.

Paul E is brilliant, and is the most entertaining thing about Smackdown right now (apart from angle and eddy), but nobody has ever been able to equal the Weasel.
