The Hell in a Cell Connection

I dunno if anyone has posted this, but Ive had this theory for a long time... I call it the "Hell in a Cell Connection"... I have noticed that in every Hell in a Cell match, at least one former participant is in it... Heres the proof...

Hell in a Cell #1: Shawn Michaels vs. The Undertaker

Hell in a Cell #2: Mankind vs. The Undertaker

Hell in a Cell #3: The Big Bossman vs. The Undertaker

Hell in a Cell #4, Kennel from Hell Match: Al Snow vs. The Big Bossman

Hell in a Cell #5: Triple H vs. Cactus Jack (Still counts, cause hes Mankind)

Hell in a Cell #6: Stone Cold vs. HHH vs. The Rock vs. Kurt Angle vs. Rikishi vs. The Undertaker

Hell in a Cell #7: Chris Jericho vs. Triple H

Hell in a Cell #8: Kevin Nash vs. Triple H

Intresting, no? ;)

Wasn't there a hell in a cell match on Raw once back in 98? Who was in that?

Undertaker w/ Kane vs Mankind i believe.....Stone Cold came in at the end

Nowhere Man 03-04-2004 08:25 PM

Actually, it was Kane w/Undertaker vs Mankind. Close enough, though.

Xero 03-04-2004 08:33 PM

I dont seem to remember that one :\

Showstopper 03-04-2004 08:42 PM

Al Snow -vs- Bossman
LOL

Evil Vito 03-04-2004 08:51 PM

<font color=goldenrod>You missed Brock Lesnar vs. The Undertaker from No Mercy 2002</font>

Xero 03-04-2004 09:04 PM

ARG! LOL, Still, the connection stays together, except for that damn Kane/Mankind one...

Stickman 03-04-2004 09:19 PM

Bossman vs Undertaker.....Bossman vs Snow......that would blow.

Fox 03-04-2004 09:45 PM

I said Jericho/Triple H, and it was Judgemnet Day 02...

AareDub 03-04-2004 10:15 PM

If you really had a list of all the special gimmick matches that probably holds true to all of them. You kinda always want someone in there that has been in the situation before, it lowers the chances of injuries/screwups.

Mikey 03-04-2004 10:33 PM

I dont consider Boss Man vs Al Snow anything close to Hell in a Cell

Well it happened...

The Show Off 03-04-2004 11:47 PM

Well if you want to get libral about the connections you could say that Kane vs. Mankind works beccause Kane made his debut at the end of the very first Hell in a Cell.

Corkscrewed 03-05-2004 12:28 AM

Well, every TLC match has had the Dudley's in it or something.... it's a conspiracy!

SukkaChump 03-05-2004 12:38 AM

i thought there was one it was austin and kane, but they just lowered the cell, it was just supposed to be a first blood match.. or i could be mistaken

The mankind vs Kane one may have happened after KOTR 98 therefore it still works with the chain

Ricky 03-05-2004 07:42 AM

Yeah was Kane VS Mankind before or after KOTR 98?

I'd assume after because I can't remember Undertaker and Kane teaming up properly until later on that year

Mikey 03-05-2004 09:08 AM

I think it was in July

SuperSlim 03-05-2004 09:42 AM

but i thought it wqas a tag match with Kane and Taker vs. Mankind and Austin on that Raw episode cause I remmeber the cell comin down and the match was on and it wasn't that good and stuff.

but Kane and Austin at KOTR was First Blood- technically not a cell match so you can't really consider it to be one.

The Naitch 03-05-2004 12:20 PM

It was the First Blood match between Austin and Kane. That match followed the infamous 98 HIAC. They just decided to lower the cell during the Austin title match with Kane

There was one that was just Mankind vs Kane, but there was also one that was supposed to be a tag match. However before the match started Austin somehow managed to lower the cell with just himself and Paul Bearer inside. He bloodied up Bearer while Undertaker tried to get in from the top.

If I remember correctly this may have happened on the same night that Goldberg beat Hogan for the WCW title.

thuganomicalcrippler 03-06-2004 11:31 AM

You're forgetting this one:

Kane vs The Undertaker --- WMXX!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Maybe but I was thinking of the TLC match with jericho, Christain Kane, Bubba, spike, Jeff and RVD in it.

What?

But...Kane buried his brother alive...How could he possibly come back to wrestle at Wrestlemania XX?

OMFG if that becomes a HIAC match I'm going to fu</>cking vomit.

Indifferent Clox 05-23-2008 06:05 AM

Is this still the case today?

CSL 05-23-2008 06:13 AM

Nope. There's 2 missing from the original list. And both disrupt the 'connection'

Indifferent Clox 05-23-2008 06:14 AM

these are triple H jericho .. which fits.. Batista Undertaker? which don't fit?

CSL 05-23-2008 06:14 AM

Kane/Foley should be @ 4

Lesnar/Taker should go before HHH/Nash

Impact! 05-23-2008 06:21 AM

lol holy bump
