Dammit.
I finally ordered a 360 after getting screwed over once by a false seller (don't ask). This time, however, UPS apparently left it at the door of my apartment while everyone was at work, and when I got home 4 hours later there was nothing there.
:'( I just wanna play video games. <object height="355" width="425"> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/Xr317Cze3nE" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" height="355" width="425"></object> |
So do you get your money back or are you fucked?
|
If it's UPS's fault, you're probably kinda fucked, since they technically delivered it. It'd be nice if they had to compensate you, but limited liability and whatnot.
|
I called UPS, and they said I had to contact the shipper and have them call UPS to have the package traced. I contacted overstock.com (who I ordered from), and they are putting a trace on the package (which probably just means they'll double check the tracker that I'm already aware of). They say the trace takes 1-4 days, and if they find that I legitimately didn't receive it, a replacement will be shipped within another 1-4 days. We'll see how that turns out.

UPS is fucking retarded.
You dont leave a box outside of an apartment. Douches. |

It's the driver's fault. We never under any circumstances leave a package at an apartment building. It has to be signed for (technically), but a Driver Release must be to the hands of the customer (although the main office is perfect as well). I've had the driver of my apartments fucked over many times cause he never makes sure anyone is home. I've come home to packages sitting outside my door, and when it's to a co worker who knows the routine, you're either sliding by or getting fucked.
What should have happened is you call the 1-800 number, they ask for the tracking #, and then they get the driver in trouble. If the claim has been filed, you will get your money or xbox back. Unfortunately most drivers do what they can to get in and get out because of the overwhelming amount of packages on the trucks to make scratch and 9 5. Sorry for your troubles over a stupid mistake by the driver. |

Not true. There is a procedure over apartment buildings, and the driver didn't follow it. He'll get his back. |

I thought UPS had a policy that they couldn't leave anything totaling $200+ without signing for it unless you sign a waiver...

Speaking of shitty courier service.
I was awaiting a package a month ago or so and I called UPS to tell them that I wouldnt be home to accept the package. I asked if I could go pick it up at the office (I called a day before as soon as I got the tracking number) and they said they couldnt do anything until it was attempted. What kind of logic is that? Save the driver some time and just leave it at the fucking office. So, they attempted and I wasnt home, and I had to pick it up at the office anyway. Dumbasses. |

What's worse is that around here, they NEVER leave a note. They drop the package. I'm thankful I'm right under the ONE camera on this floor, because it means I can at least prove when someone else takes my shit. Lazy motherfuckers. My postman is too lazy to drop packages, to boot. They never even try, they just leave a note. Complete opposite. |
Well, I just got the email from Overstock today, the trace is complete and they'll be shipping a replacement in 1-4 days.
Let's hope it goes more smoothly this time. |
Now you can admit you actually received the first one, and played Overstock for a fool.
