I completely agree with the above list and almost every film on it, but how you gonna leave King Kong off there? I also thought War of the Worlds was solid

Avenger 11-12-2007 08:59 AM

A History of Violence was a good movie.

Just thought I'd add that.

I whole heartedly disagree on both counts, but whatever. I also thought Halloween 07 was among the worst movies, and certainly worst remakes, ever made. So we're just not gonna see eye to eye.

Jeritron 11-12-2007 12:57 PM

History of Violence was great, it was a sleeper hit. I know I'm forgetting something else awesome from 2005

Boondock Saint 11-12-2007 09:52 PM

I thought Crash and Syriana were shit, but the rest of 2005 seemed to have been pretty good.

But there haven't been many better than King Kong.

Random sidenote: John Carpenter's The Thing is one of the best remakes ever.

2004
Friday Night Lights
Man on Fire

Rocky III

Night Shift

Oh and '85

Better Off Dead
Back to the Future
The Breakfast Club

I thought Ferris Beuller's Day Off was released in '85 too. If that were the case... '85 would have just been to ridiculous for words.
