WWE and The Writer's Strike

This thought just occurred to me...how is the WWE going to be effected by the writer's strike? Or will they be effected at all? Do the WWE writers belong to the writer's guild?

I don't have any idea so I thought I'd ask. Think it would be interesting if they DO and they wind up on strike. What the hell is WWE going to do if that happens?

Xero 11-05-2007 09:28 PM

No, they're not part of the writer's guild.

loopydate 11-05-2007 09:28 PM

Never would have occurred to me. Best of John Cena compilations till the strike ends?

ClockShot 11-05-2007 09:29 PM

I thought Boone posted down in the news board that WWE isn't affected by it.

*PHEW*

Good, cause as mentioned...I would hate to see "Best Of's" and reruns and shit from them.

God that would be awful.

I don't know, I'd mark out if they just started airing Monday Nitro or old RAWs from the Attitude era.

You really listen to Boone?

Kane Knight 11-05-2007 09:33 PM

WWE has writers?

Corporate CockSnogger 11-05-2007 09:33 PM

They could fill the time having Santino perform a standup routine.

Then probably have Austin stunner him

Yeh but that is exactly what they wouldn't air...we'd get what loopydate mentioned.

Coach: Welcome to John Cena: The Man. A 20 week series, from humble beginnings as a cyborg wrestler to the top of the mountain. Tonight, John Cena talks about what it means to be a wrestler. And don't forget to tune in tomorrow on ECW on SciFi, for "My Observations and Explanations: The Batista Story".

Well, someone once purposed the idea that if you had a room full of monkeys typing on keyboards, eventually they would by freak chance type out the Bible. Vince McMahon being a fan of carnie acts decided to give it a try, and while they haven't gotten the bible out yet, what they HAVE done is seen every week from 8pm-10pm on the USA Network. Check it out some time.

Corkscrewed 11-05-2007 10:08 PM

If the writers did belong to the guild, I don't think they'd deserve any royalties from anything produced. I mean, that implies your product has to be decent.

Kane Knight 11-05-2007 10:12 PM

WWE Cenalocity.

Mercury Bullet 11-05-2007 10:25 PM

They referenced the writer's strike on Raw...lol. Thought that was interesting...

Actually I guess it isn't that interesting. Who gives a shit.

Kane Knight 11-05-2007 10:46 PM

They also referenced Katie Vick. Piped in reactions. :D

Not exactly, but check that south park episode when they explain how family guy is written, it would explain alot if you ask me, that's my theory on how its written anyhow.

BigDaddyCool 11-06-2007 11:36 AM

If you were watching Raw last night, DX addressed that issue. No one writes that crap.

Vastardikai 11-06-2007 12:35 PM

I figured it was because of one of reasons:

1. Vince is such an asshole he won't even let his Writers Unionize

or

2. The writers are so bad the Union won't take them.

Yeah, it's stolen from the news board, but I think it's good. so sue me.

thedamndest 11-06-2007 12:38 PM

I think it's the second one. Mae Young giving birth to a hand? COME ON.
