John Morrison

Is it just me or is anyone else enjoying his character lately? I mean he still is sucking something awful on the mic, but he's been fairly decent in the ring. A tad bit too much flash without enough substance, but he's getting better. And I think he just might be able to run with this Morrison thing for a while and be successful.

Anyone else agree?

Super V 11-07-2007 08:19 PM

The Miz is better. That just about sums up John Morrison.

Innovator 11-07-2007 08:24 PM

Dressed like Jim Morrison, music like Jimi Hendrix, promo skills of Teri Shiavo

Inside the ring he's awesome, especially with Punk. They've got chemistry together...must be from wrestling almost every week.

Kane Knight 11-07-2007 08:25 PM

I always thought he was solid in the ring, but ass in every other aspect. What's particularly changed aboot him?

BigDaddyCool 11-07-2007 08:27 PM

I have liked him for a while now. He can be decent on the mic as long as his promo is just really laid back. When he gets angry it sucks.

The fact that his in ring performance is getting better and I am actually starting to like him. Plus I think slowly he's growing into his Jim Morrison rip off gimmick. I just wish he could get better mic skills. :-\

I used to be on the Nitro/Morrison bandwagon but I've been off a while now. Since his jump to ECW and push to the "main event" I think he has actually gone downhill, or his major flaws have just been exposed. He doesn't look like the main eventer that it seemed the potential was there for a while back.

I haven't really seen his rise to stardom. I know a lot of people around here have been on his cock for a while, but that dates back to when he was boring me on Raw or Smackdown.

It's interesting to see people who were on the bandwagon say he's lost a step or isn't who they thought he was.

IC Champion 11-07-2007 08:59 PM

I never really found anything really that great aboot him.

The One 11-07-2007 09:00 PM

And I always thought he was a complete bore in MNM and during his IC run on RAW you couldn't have paid me to give a shit about him. But I'm truly digging Morrison now-a-days.

I suppose, there really was no "rise". It was a lateral movement to a lesser show that resulted in him becoming a main eventer. Still, he hasn't really looked like a main eventer since being put in that position. He looks like the guy who may or may not have the potential to one day be a main eventer, however, his failure to really take a step forward leads me to believe that the potential really isn't there.

Hanso Amore 11-07-2007 09:39 PM

His rise consisted of Chris Benoits Fall

Crossrine 11-07-2007 09:40 PM

I'm actually liking him more, but they should ease up on the Jim Morrison rip off gimmick during his promos. They try wayyy too hard to make everything he says sound deep and intriguing.

Lock Jaw 11-07-2007 09:45 PM

I really liked Johnny Nitro on RAW, but haven't actually seen John Morrison because I don't watch ECW.

Half of his appeal though was his elaborate entrance with fur coat and Melina.

To be fair, at this point in his career, he really should look like that. And ECW is full of lackluster stars who would be midcard otherwise. I mean, he's feuding with Punk, FFS.

ECW is like Heat with a title***.

***Disclaimer: There is no real WWECW title. I'm referring to the belt they're feuding over for some reason.

Skippord 11-07-2007 09:54 PM

He's one of my favorite wrestlers rn

Johnny Vegas 11-07-2007 09:56 PM

His in-ring ability is great. I believe that he needs to have more edge when he does promos. He IS better with a laid back approach but he is young and still a little green. He will get out of that hpefully, he just needs to be more comfortable with his shit. You can tell that that isnt him in real life. He needs to have a "frat-boy, young stud, down-to-earth" attitude and he would rock.

Wear casual clothes like flip flops, Jordans, or w/e, print licensed t-shirts, fitted hats and just be that cool ass dude. He would kick so much ass, trust. This thing he's doing now is for someone like Orton, since Orton can play that serious shit really well.

Yes.

Xerzes 11-08-2007 03:47 AM

Never particularly cared. Jeff Hardy usually gives better promos, and hearing Jeff talk makes me want to punch the entire South.

GD 11-08-2007 05:20 AM

He is really good in the ring.

Londoner 11-08-2007 07:58 AM

Yeah ive been finding him entertaining lately also, always used to bore me but this gimmick suits him.

Dave Youell 11-08-2007 08:03 AM

His promo's seem horribly forced.

Apart from that I have no problem with Mr Morrison

They really are nothing but him referring to himself as 10 different nicknames. A writer gives him a sheet then he quotes it, rise repeat.

His look is a 10
In Ring is a 10
Promo is a 3

Needs work to ever make it at the top.

Londoner 11-08-2007 09:31 AM

Could definately see him challenging for the IC title soon.

Theo Dious 11-08-2007 12:47 PM

To me, this illustrates the best thing about WWECW: You can give a guy like Morrison (sort of) main event experience, and if he's lacking in one area, fuck, nobody's watching anyways.

Haven't watched ECW in months cuz it sucks and is on at a horrible time.
