Genesis thread?
Any good matches?
|
Booker is the guy, "The Silver Fox" Kevin Nash is working him over right now
|
Booker jobbing to Nash? TNA TNA TNA
|
hooray Booker
if it weren't for The Office and Scrubs, he could bring me back to TNA |
Is Booker called "Booker T"? "Booker H?"
|
.
|
Nope, Jobber T
|
ROFL, Booker JOBBED?!
|
It's not like they'd put the title on him in his first match there, although it is TNA and he is a washed up has-been from WWE so i guess they wanna build him up to headline their company.........and then lose him in the shuffle someplace like Rhino
|
kaz winning was good
|
It's TNA. what do you expect?
|
so, kaz has a title shot coming?
I don't know if that's cool or not but he was in the WWE for a couple weeks so it's not like he won't hold the title sometime |
I'm looking forward to Kurt Angle vs. Frankie Kazarian, I'll say that much. Those are the kind of matches that are going to set TNA apart from the WWE.
I'd also mark out for a stable featuring Kurt Angle, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall, Chris Sabin & Alex Shelley. |
Angle pinned Sting, following Tomko and AJ interfering
|
Fun fact: Kazarian was undefeated in the WWE. Like he never lost a match...ever. I mean, he only had about four of them, but it's still 100% wins.
Hopefully they don't drop the ball here, and let Angle and Kazarian put on a good match. It'll probably be an Impact! title match, but it can still be fun. Booker didn't job, Sting took the pin. Putting the TNA World Title on Booker in his first match would have been pretty silly. No dobut he'll get a title shot on PPV next month, or the month after, however. I actually think a switch then could be good. |
Just read there were three debuts tonight on PWInsider. I see Sharmell and Booker. Who's the third one?

Ah.

So hold up, Tomko & AJ Styles helped out Kurt Angle? Then wouldn't it have made more sense for Christian Cage to win the Ladder Match and get the shot against Angle? It can have the whole "you stole my team" dynamic to it. TNA booking is so confusing.
|
I didn't see it, but I already want Johnny Stamboli to go away
this whole Abyss James Mitchell thing is getting too, I dunno, I kinda want to say crowded |

I hope Christian Cage and Booker T get to do some segments together. They would have great comedic chemistry, I think. The whole Jim Mitchell vs. Abyss thing doesn't really bother me. I mean, Johnny Stamboli is the most talented guy they've put against Abyss in the program so far. Raven was great, and has been working hard recently, but I don't know if he can be considered "in his prime." I'd actually enjoy a stable of Jim Mitchell, Stamboli, Judas Mesias, Black Reign, Raven & Havok. |
so are they all in a stable for real? that's pretty cool if so. I saw Black Reign attack Abyss on Thurs, but nobody else, so I didn't think they were all together.

How dare you. |
I can see Kaz and Angle having a really good match on TV, Angle retains with the help of Tomko and AJ, this leads to a Christian Face turn. If that’s the way they are going to go though, they need to turn some folks heel. Joe has lost stream recently, so him going heel wouldn’t be bad for him (IWC rulebook fact).
Looking forward to seeing this PPV, sounds like there were a couple of really decent matches on it |
So let me get this straight, we now have a company headlined by:
Kevin Nash Jeff Jarrett The Steiner Brothers Booker T and Sting. Have we not been here before? :shifty: |
Let's not jump to conclusions on a Kaz vs. Kurt Angle title match ever even happening guys. Idiots Dutch Mantel and Jeff Jarrett have proven many times over that #1 Contendorship matches mean shit in TNA.

Oh dear! |
There are definitely remnants of WCW circa 1999, however; unlike WCW I'm actually enjoying TNA right now. They are taking alot of steps in the right direction. Christian vs Kaz was a MOTY canidate as expected, Dudleys vs MCMG was awesome, Sonjay vs Black Machismo really showcased the X-Division like it should be showcased (Not to mention, the Dudleys killing them afterwards is really heating up this Dudleys vs X-Division fued), even the Women's match wasn't half bad. Of course, there are a few stumbling points. Black Reign and Abyss was alright for what is was I guess but it could've easily been replaced with something better. Also, the Steiners need to get off TV. Other than that though, I'm really excited to see how the TNA product does in the next couple of years.
|
Booker T is a major addition to them. It's the best pickup they've had since Angle easily
|
TNA is horrible. I can't believe anyone pays money to see that crap.
|
Believe it. And there are many who do not share your opinion. For instance, the guys' house that we watch TNA PPVs at only watches TNA and no other prowrestling of any kind.
|
Also, is Hall back with TNA, or was the for one night only? What the hell is up with that?
|
Not entirely sure. He'll probably make random ass appearances from time to time. He didn't look to be that much in shape to carry a full time schedule. I could be wrong though, he had a gigantic jersey on.

To me, it reeks of the whole "Hiring other guys' big names" more than a major addition. Part of this may simply be that I view Booker as past his prime and of limited interest, which fits into TNA's roster scheme. Several guys on their roster now should have retired already, and are past their prime shells. Compare that to Angle, and Angle's gotten better in TNA. Angle's a serious coup, Booker, though? |
Yeah, at first I thought that this whole Booker T situation was really only going to hurt things rather than help them. TNA hiring every single WWE reject just because they can makes them seem pretty desperate. It does help though that Book asked for his release rather than him being fired. Also, we don't know what their plans are for him. My guess would be for them to build him up for a long while and then progressively have him start sending new guys to the top.
As for them hiring every WWE reject... we'll see how the Masters situation pans out. |
Well he's no Angle, and not near the coup Jericho would have been. Also, he isn't the rising star in his prime that Christian is. So he doesn't top them.
But aside from that, I still think its a good pick up. Esepcially since normally they pick up Rikishi, Test and Goldust. At least Booker T is a former WWE champion (recently to boot) and is able to help out their title picture. He's also got name recognition value, since he can go by Booker T. He is past his prime though, I agree. It definitely reeks of hiring the other promotions big names, but thats what WCW did to get on the map. They just didn't know to shift focus once they were on top. With the state of TNA, I don't see how adding Booker T to the roster is anything but good, especially compared to just about every move they've made since snagging Angle a year ago. |
Are you dissin' the Kish, Jeritron?
Because it's on, now! :foc: |
No, but seriously, he's much bigger than their usual fare, yes. Name power, anyway. I'm not sure if he's actually worth their money, though.
