November 14, 2007 - Today Game Informer unveiled its next cover story: a Ghostbusters game is currently in development and Harold Ramis, Bill Murray, and Dan Aykroyd are all on board. The trio will be reprising their roles in what will serve as Ghostbusters 3, only in videogame form.

Akroyd and Ramis are writing the script and Game Informer says this won't be a quick-and-easy licensed cash-in. This game apparently has nothing to do with the Ghostbusters game Zootfly was working on, of which demo videos appeared on YouTube earlier this year.

Uh...Duhhh...We knew it was real 6 months ago.

We just didn't know it was licensed.

So it won't be using the engine based off the one in the last trailers? There were some problems with the size of the proton packs and light guns (do they have a name?) but it looked awesome.

Glad to hear it will be written by Akroyd and Ramis though.

The engine in the last trailer was the Gears of War Engine. I seriously doubt they'd use it. You could even see some of the shit from GoW in the game.

The "Light Guns" are merely a part of the Proton Packs, unless I'm missing something.

Lets hope it's better than the NES offering:lol:

His character isn't really in the movies that much heh, especially the first one.

I had a ghostbusters game for Sega Genesis. This is amazing news.

Well, while he is almost a secondary character, it would still be unfortunate if he wasn't around.

They should rename him Token for the game.

Oh I agree if in fact he is in I'm not surprised though that he's not seen as important enough to mention in the press release.

Looks like it follows the first movie.

Great franchise, awesome cast/writers. Here's hoping the gameplay itself stacks up.

Yeah, it'd suck if the gameplay blew.

Is that the new game, or the Zootfly game that they said won't be connected to the current one?

Thats the new game, zootfly are making their own ghost game with similarities to ghostbusters tossed in.

...Or, rather, they're making a Ghostbusters game with the serial numbers filed off now that they don't have the rights.

Fighting Stay Puft alone will probably be worth it, yeay. That shot's pretty incredible.

Actually according to articles I’ve seen it’s set in 1991, and the GB’s are actually very successful. And they are actually debating whether to call it Ghostbusters or Ghostbusters 3 <-*true story*.
