Matt Hardy catches Appendix in bed with his best friend, severs ties

Matt Hardy underwent an emergency appendectomy today in Tampa, Florida while in the area for last night's Smackdown taping, according to the WWE website.

WWE.com is reporting Hardy will be out of action 1-3 months.

---------------------

sucks for Matt, he was on a roll with MVP.

Xero 11-21-2007 01:35 AM

LOL at title.

Does it really take 1-3 months of recovery for an Appendectomy?

Innovator 11-21-2007 01:36 AM

For an athlete yeah, but Ben Roethlisberger came back sooner than that I think

Corkscrewed 11-21-2007 04:17 AM

LOL, nice title.

But since when does an appendectomy sideline you up to 3 months? Is that normal? I feel like you wouldn't be out that long. =/

I should read the replies before just replying after the first post.

Damn Matt can't catch a break lately. At least they have a way to add more heat to the feud with MVP.

Dave Youell 11-21-2007 05:40 AM

This is great timing I think, they said 3 months max.

If they can set up the rumble so MVP is number 1 and a returning Matt Hardy if number 2 as a surprise, that would be sweet, plus it then means they are closer to that Mania blow off match that they deserve

My cousin had it done and he returned to work in two weeks....but then again I guess those guys do more than my cousin does at work.

I don't think you want to return form a surgery too early in wrestling, or any other physical endeavor.

So first MVP has heart problems, then Matt has apendicitis....What's next?

Innovator 11-21-2007 12:08 PM

I had mine out when I was 9 and that took about two weeks...but I had a bad case. If you catch it early you can be back in a couple days.

True story: One of my friends was found about 2 days after his appendix burst. It took him like 6 months to get out of the hospital.

Granted, that's an extreme, because he probably should have died.

My mum's burst when she was younger and she was in hospital for 8 months, this was before I was born though.

So if they burst it's a hell of alot worse.

Innovator 11-21-2007 12:38 PM

Mine burst in the morning and they got it out pretty fast, but yeah could have died if no one listened to the kid in pain.

Splaya 11-21-2007 12:49 PM

I totally agree with Dave. Have MVP say he injured Matt and have Matt take off till the Rumble. Have him come into the Rumble as a mystery opponent and take out MVP. Granted he doesnt win the Rumble, but then you get the match at Mania for the title. Make it a ladder match too

Shit, MVP vs. Hardy has been my favourite part of Smackdown for months. :(

I hope this doesn't lead to MVP getting buried because WWE can't come up with a new program for him.

You want wwe's paid writers to come up with something new, they are busy people you know.

Hope this kills this whole MVP thing. He's pretty terrible, tbh.

He already did last SD. Pretty convenient, actually, because they can use the whole "MVP destroyed Matt's knee" thing to keep Matt out of action for a few months.

Hey, in the end it works out nicely to setup a WM24 match, so :y:

Not complaining, mind, but DAMN.

Tommy Gunn 11-23-2007 05:12 AM

Could it be feud of the year? Depending on the payoff of course, but damn, two young guys getting over 6 months to develop a feud around the 2nd tier title? When was the last time that happened?

I guess it also helps that Matt and MVP have great chemistry and have been hilarious in their competitions.
