So I was real close to buying a ticket for tomorrow night

$25, lower level section and I just couldn't do it. would of been my first live event ever, but I just don't think Raw is worth it. we'll see.

how have your live event experiences been?

CSL 11-25-2007 11:21 PM

Live events are always fun, no matter how bad the product at the time.

Evil Vito 11-25-2007 11:22 PM

IMO live events are always a blast. Matches you might think blow when watching on TV become 100x more enjoyable with the crowd and the whole environment

I'm going to the 3-hour 15th Anniversary Raw Dec. 10th. Can't wait

Bad Company 11-25-2007 11:34 PM

live events are fucking sweet, but I have really only Attended 2 I was old enough to remember. Both were in the past 3 years, Fucking sweeeeeeeeeeet.

Totally agree. :y:

I've been to almost every major PPV in the NYC area since SummerSlam 97. Been to tons of RAWs, SmackDowns! and House Shows as well. I've never been to a live event that I didn't think was awesome. Sometimes it doesn't look as great when watching on DVD or taped, but live it's always awesome.

Innovator 11-25-2007 11:59 PM

I've been to too many to count, but last one left a bad taste in my mouth (Summerslam)

Funky Fly 11-26-2007 12:13 AM

Net even worth it for Jericho? Damn...

He most likely won't wrestle, but he'll probably do something good.

And on top of that live events are always fun even if the show isn't that good at the time. I don't go often so it's always a nice markout moment just to see wrestlers you like live. Matches are way more engagin live.

Hardy/HHH vs Umaga/Snitsky will probably be your run of the mill mediocre tv match. But live it'll prob be pretty good.

Since you've never been, I'd go just because you've never been. Sounds like a stupid mark thing to say, but just being at a Raw and seeing well known entrances and finishers and shit is pretty cool. And being a part of the pops.

And you never know when a good match or promo might come. If it's not too late, shell out the 25 bucks. If I was made of money, I'd send it to you. That's not even a full tank of gas these days

One cool thing about live shows is the little things being entertaining. Crowd taunts, and simple spots can still get over and you appreciate them way more.

Want proof. I checked out a small TNA live event this past summer and had a blast

SammyG 11-26-2007 01:56 AM

Dude. Come on, you shoulda. Live events are so amazing.

BlackDawn2024 11-26-2007 02:16 AM

I agree. Live events are unbelievable. So incredible. No matter how bad the actual product may be at the time, the live shows and events are always a total blast.

Londoner 11-26-2007 10:51 AM

Yeah i would've done it just to see jericho live.

jimmy012345 11-26-2007 11:20 AM

live events are cool as heck. ive been to a ton of them and ive had a ball each time

I was thinking about going to that. But I just hate going to Bridgeport in general.

I've been to one so far. I scored my tix. by being the winning caller on a radio station I listen to. It was pretty awesome.

DarKCentaur 11-26-2007 12:21 PM

Isn't Flair coming back tonight?

Jeritron 11-26-2007 12:23 PM

I guess that could be cool, even though Flair being around pisses me off. But even still that could be entertaining, Especially since Santino is gonna interupt him and call him a dinosaur

Kane Knight 11-26-2007 12:34 PM

Everything's better live. It's pretty much universally true.

Fox 11-26-2007 02:03 PM

Nothing like giving John Cena the middle finger from the front row of a 1,000 person capacity arena and having him glare and threateningly point at you from the ring.

I'll never forget that. First live event.

Luckily I just moved to Orlando, so WrestleMania 24, here I come.

Londoner 11-26-2007 02:03 PM

Ehh, Flair coming back could be enough to put me off going if i had the chance to go..though Jericho being there evens it out. Wonder what they'll do with jericho tonight.

NoRoolz 11-26-2007 02:09 PM

25 dollars man you can't go wrong!

Live events are unreal, even the ones in the U.K. I've been to two; Insurrextion 00 and Insurrextion 01, for the latter I was front row behind the commentators so that was even more unreal. So yeah if any opportunities come up like that again I certainly suggest you go!

Also a kinda-related question: I just got tickets for Raw in U.K in April, I got in very late so I brought upper-tier seats row R 'cos they were 25 pound and I thought it'll still be a really good experience. So just wondering has anyone ever sat in the Upper Tier around Row R? Is the view reasonable enough from up there? Like can you see what's going on and stuff?

Cheers.

Haha legend, was this televised?

Unless you have some sort of medical condition in your larynx that dis-allows you from screaming "WOO!," I'm going to have to consider this comment completely out of line.

Would they televise a show in an arena that only holds 1,000?

It was a little house show in Ocean City, Maryland back in like, 2002. I just remember that Los Guerreros were the Tag Champions at the time, and I got to see Rhino GORE a chair into Charlie Haas' chest.

Nahh not in '00 mate.

If you/anyone has the '01 tape I'm on TV loadssss. I was like 10 at the time though lol. I'm wearing a blue nike cap, know for sure I'm seen holding a replica title on Dudleys entrance and after promo-vid for Y2J/Regal. And somewhere later, I think after that match I can be seen ripping some boy's 'KANE' sign

Well i wasnt taking the 'woo' thing into consideration, just he bores the fuck out of me on tv.

Fox 11-26-2007 02:39 PM

....

You probably shouldn't go to this live show. Let someone else have your ticket who can appreciate the all-fans-in-attendance inclusive nature of a Ric Flair promo/match.

WOO!

Londoner 11-26-2007 03:13 PM

I cant anyway, im just saying if i had the chance i would.

Innovator 11-26-2007 04:58 PM

I live about 10 minutes from Harbor Yard, so I really have no reason not to go to the 3 hour RAW.

KingofOldSchool 11-26-2007 05:00 PM

LC, you get to see Flair AND Jericho. How could you NOT pass it up?

Loose Cannon 11-26-2007 05:15 PM

yea, I know. I'm not really kicking myself about not going though. like I'm not feeling it. we'll see if I'll be kicking myself in a couple hours though. maybe when a PPV comes here, I'll go.

DarKCentaur 11-26-2007 05:35 PM

Hopefully I'll be able to get tickets to the Rumble at MSG this year... last show I ever went to actually was WM 20. And that was one hell of an experience, probably best live show I've ever seen out of anything, wrestling and non

Innovator 11-26-2007 06:17 PM

I think the Rumble tickets go on sale late December

Just got tickets to the 12/10 RAW, 3 hour deal so hopefully it'll be decent.

Blitz 11-26-2007 06:35 PM

What the fuck, $25 for lower level and you said no? Come on.

Innovator 11-26-2007 07:06 PM

In the words of Jericho, thats ricockulous

NoRoolz 11-27-2007 05:48 PM

WWE need to get more 'true fans' at wrestling events anyway, the crowds these days are abysmal. The occasional crowd (Survivor Series) is reasonable. but when compared to the crowds of 7 years ago they still suck.

Not stating anything new here I know but I think we all need to do our part to try and liven crowds up again when we go to events :D.

Mr. Pierre 11-27-2007 06:05 PM

I went to Summerslam (NJ) this year with friends and family, and the crowd was unreal, especially during Cena/Orton. The only match we seemed dead for was Punk/Morrison, only because they were smushed in-between Austin and HHH. Oh well.

Another time I remember being in attendance for an insane crowd was that Angle/Cena first blood match from RAW. I don't know how it turned out on TV (since my tape ran out), but everyone was going nuts.
