The Black Album
Every song is good. Best produced album in a long time.
Thoughts? |
Yeah. Enter Sandman, Nothing Else Matters, The Unforgiven, Through the Never, Sad But True... great album.
|
Best produced album in a long time?
|
Truthfully, I think the production value on Phernology and Love Below were untouchable in recent memory.. Good album, but I've always been a Jay-Z fan so..
:-\.. |

Wait are we talking about a great album or an abomination released over 10 years later? :?:

:nono: It's funny, in all my years of being a music fan I've never heard a Hip Hop fan blindly talk shit about "rock".. With vice versa, you hear it often.. Weird.. |
The black album is overproduced garbage. It has a few good songs [Through The Never is great], but the vocals suck, and the overall feel of the album was commercial.
|
The album's not really overproduced.
|
For a thrash metal band it is.
|
If a thrash metal band is produced at all, it's called a miracle.
don't worry, they went back to their roots with ST Anger. |
:)

Jay-Z's Black Album rules.

Bob Rock should be shot.

Kill 'Em All was 83...

The best thrash metal album production-wise is Testament's "The Legacy".

Kill 'Em All was a good album, though.

I have to go with asphyXy, though. Pre-Justice Metallica was good. |
Master of Puppets is overrated garbage. Ride the Lightning was the beginning of their downfall. Justice wasn't even a thrash album, but it does have its moments [Shortest Straw].
|
You know what's a really overproduced album?
Frank Black--Dog in the sand. Live to 4-track. |
Darkthrone's Transilvanian Hunger is overproduced. This is the equipment used to record Transilvanian Hunger:
Random four piece studio drumset A guitar A bass One microphone [vocals and drums] Cheap four track pocket studio |
Metallica probably put more work in producing St. Anger then every other album they have made. I don't think it's possible to sound that shitty after playing music for that long.
|
Oh, right. St. Anger exists. Haha.

Usually, when you overproduce something, you at least improve the sound...Even if the m,usic suffers as a result. |

The black album is the most overrated album ever. Bob Rock needs to die.

I'm not gonna say that rap is easy to do, but I've produced beats and played instuments, and the latter is MUCH harder. Having been in rock bands since I was 12, and having lived through the Tupac/MTV-craze that made rap part of pop culture, I can easily say that a TON of rap fan trash rock. |

There's gotta be more overrated albums... ...Though I can't think of one... |

the black album is the fifth best metalica album, or the third worst, whichever. |
1 - Kill 'Em All
2 - Ride The Lightning 3 - And Justice For All The rest |
I have been a big Metallica fan for a long time. Even though now there music isnt the same as it used to be I still stick with them. Black Album was the beginning of them getting a little weak. Dont get me wrong it was a good album. I loved it but they have had better. Im a big fan of Kill em All myself. The only thing that makes the Black Album seem so great to most people is that no one really new Metallica untill they put out the black album. when this one came out they were getting fans from everywhere. The one thing that makes me mad about the album though is that most fans that loved this CD seem to think it was Metallica's first CD.
