360 Fall Update has been released

http://www.majornelson.com/archive/2...available.aspx

Yup.

Only thing is I can't seem to connect to a non-Media Center PC through WMP. FUCK.

D Mac 12-04-2007 01:12 PM

I like the Original Xbox games download idea.

RoXer 12-04-2007 05:12 PM

Just press X under music to change location. Works swimmingly for me.

Xero 12-05-2007 07:18 PM

Yeah, figured that out. Was really pissed thinking they locked it into MCE/Vista..

Kane Knight 12-06-2007 12:38 AM

What were the changes? I tried looking at the link from MAjor Nelson's, but it wouldn't load the Microsoft page. I saw the changes to LM...

Fignuts 12-06-2007 12:43 AM

Besides LM, they combined messages and friends into one option. And you can now see your friend's friends, and add them i you want. Why you would want to add total strangers I dunno, but whatever.

Extreme Angle 12-06-2007 02:49 AM

Write a bio about yourself... I've downloaded fable because I never had the chance to play it, god its fun

Xero 12-06-2007 11:21 AM

The downloadable XBox games are pretty much a waste since you can still get them, box and all, for a fraction of the price used, and in some cases new.

Disturbed316 12-06-2007 12:32 PM

Also, no achievements [/whore]

The new lay out is taking abit of getting used to, but I like it.

And there are known glitches they never fixed. And new ones for emulating it virtually. I mean, these are uncompressed, too. This is such a bad idea.

Fignuts 12-06-2007 07:58 PM

I know pre-played games at blockbuster and gamestop are hurting game companies. Its been an issue for a long time. This might just be their attempt to try to alleviate that problem a bit.

Kane Knight 12-06-2007 09:32 PM

Then they should probably put some effort into it. Who wants a shitty, glitched out version for ten bucks when you can get a slightly less shitty and glitched out version for 5 bucks, and not waste 2-5 gigs of your HDD?

Xero 12-06-2007 11:08 PM

Morons.

So 95% of the XBL community.

Thats the next point I was going to make. Microsoft isn't stupid. They know SOME people like us won't fall for it, but like xero said. 95% of the live members will be all "OMFGS HALO S AND THE FABLE ON MY DASHBOARD!PWNAGEISM!"

D Mac 12-07-2007 01:15 AM

Hey it's for us lazy people.

Kane Knight 12-07-2007 01:18 AM

They may not be stupid, but Microsoft is not above bad business decisions.

Xero 12-07-2007 01:23 AM

My guess is that it's Microsoft testing the waters on an eventual system based entirely on downloaded games. Or the next inevitable step in the process.

Kalyx triaD 12-07-2007 01:27 AM

The XB Guide Blade comes on screen and off much faster than before.

Fignuts 12-07-2007 02:48 AM

I wouldn't call this a bad business decision. Taking advantage of stupid people in large groups, always leads to more cash flow.

The point wasn't to say it was a bad business decision, but simply to point out the glaring mistakes they have made in the past. You know, like every business ever. The "They're not stupid" argument doesn't mean this will be a success. Even on GameFAQs, the response to this appears to be lackluster. And they are stupid little fanboys 98% of the time.

D Mac 12-07-2007 02:04 PM

I'm thinking of getting Halo. :shifty:

Fignuts 12-08-2007 02:54 PM

Original halo isn't worth the HD space, or 15 bucks, let alone both.

Xero 12-08-2007 04:10 PM

Neither are the other two.

LOL. I saw one the GameFAQs boards that someone suggested buying both.

Extreme Angle 12-12-2007 04:33 PM

I buy points, my matebuys points, he recovers my account and downloads a game, its then on his xbox so hecan play it, i recover my account back and download the same game, we both get it.
I did this with my mate and got fable for free, he just needs a favour now.
Probably gonna repay him with the heroic halo pack

Fignuts 12-12-2007 06:41 PM

wtf, the dashboard is now needlessly more complicated. Terrible.

If your HD goes screwy though, anything your mate bought will not work again as it's not the original paid download.

Extreme Angle 12-13-2007 07:24 AM

yeah but i buy what my mate wants on his account so... I'm not to bothered anyway tbh, mass effect > fable
