The best personal Audio device

Which personal audio device gives you the best sound quality? I go for my Sony Ericsson W810i walkman phone. The sound quality just kills my Apple IPod.

A Zen is a Creative....

I've always had a iPod, never had any problems with it.

I’ve got an older 40gb Sony walkman and I’m still more than happy with it, the battery life on it is great. Had it for over 3 years and it’s still going strong

Kane Knight 12-05-2007 11:47 AM

Until recently, I would have said Zen (Which, as was said before, is a creative.), but they started introducing firmware and software that makes them, you know, not work.

Toshiba Gigabeat 30GB with a 3.5" screen.

It plays mp3's, wma, wmv, jpg and you can sync it with your media centre and watch recorded tv on it. No software needed, you can use Windows Media Player, Real Player or just drag and drop the files.

Nope. iPod is the best.

Downunder 12-06-2007 03:16 AM

Penner you are wrong - iPod sucks cock

Funky Fly 12-06-2007 04:41 AM

If I had the opportunity to choose, I would have gotten something other than an iPod, but it was a gift. Also, I've had it for 3 years and have only had to deal with the occasional borking out (solved by letting the battery run out and then charging it back up) and gradually declining battery life (had it 3 years).

iPod.

COWON D2

MP3/WMA/WAV/OGG/FLAC are all supported for the best audio quality you can get. Well, that is the best you can get without being limited by your headphone/speakers.

Really? How much space does it have?

OssMan 12-06-2007 07:45 PM

tape player

Bad Company 12-06-2007 08:28 PM

Cowon's gear is great, I love my Iaudio M3, but they don't usually have much space on their devices. Iriver makes some great gear too.

D2's come in 2, 4, and 8GB with expansion slots for SD cards.

COWON also makes some 16GB and 60GB. The 60GB is like $500 though.

Kane Knight 12-06-2007 10:21 PM

Yick. The only reason I went for an iPod, aside from not knowing about this "one way transfer" bullshit is that I needed a lot of space. I currently have 42 GB on my iPod. I admit, I could get rid of some of it, but I like variety, and I like being able to just shuffle 30-something days worth of songs when I'm indecisive. And I'll probably put more on, so 80 GB seemed like a great size. Wish I'd known they'd have a 160 out soon, though. I mean, I can't imagine needing that kind of space, but I remember when I got my first HDD MP3 player, and thought "When the fuck am I ever going to use that much space??"

Funky Fly 12-07-2007 12:22 AM

Yeah, def gonna have to upgrade to 80gb soon.

If I should suddenly come into 160 gb, I suppose I could store videos and shit on there.

Too bad they only play like MP4 videos. that's so lame. I mean, honestly, why is the universal player the one that's so fucking feature-limited?

Funky Fly 12-07-2007 12:42 AM

Whaaaaaaaaaaaat? Gayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy.

Gonna have to invent my own shit.

Kane Knight 12-07-2007 12:44 AM

I can't even watch all my podcasts on it. :wtf:

Funky Fly 12-07-2007 12:59 AM

lol wow

Kane Knight 12-07-2007 01:14 AM

They made a big deal when they added AAC file support.

one day, we might have AVI support.

Downunder 12-07-2007 02:33 AM
