Who deserves the title the most?

Out of everyone in professional wrestling, what wrestler WHO HASN'T YET HELD A WORLD TITLE most deserves to become the next world wrestling champion in their, or another, promotion?

For instance, I'd love to see Edge Jericho Christian HBK or HHH as world champions again sometime soon....but they've been champions before

So...who is the most deserving to be the next first time world champion in wrestling and why?
And along with that, who do you think will be and why?

discuss.

Stickman 12-05-2007 04:00 PM

Honestly, everybody who deserves to be champ has been one.

lol should have seen that one coming

Rammsteinmad 12-05-2007 04:13 PM

Stevie Richards. :D

Kane Knight 12-05-2007 04:18 PM

On the current roster? Michaels comes to mind. I can't think of anyone more deserving.

BigDaddyCool 12-05-2007 04:36 PM

Right now, no one. The closest are both Hardies and MVP. None of them are quiet there yet. After Jeff wins against HHH, he should be in the mainevent and in a title hunt. Matt and MVP are really close to the edge as well. As for everyone else, no one else is even close.

Also, in TNA, Roode needs to be built up a litte more then he would be a great pick for a home grown TNA champion.

Mr. Pierre 12-05-2007 04:38 PM

Yeah, there aren't many top names who haven't been World Champion before. As far as "deserving" I'd have to say Finlay. Even though the only World Title he'd ever win would be the ECW Title, since I don't see him headlining SD! or RAW as World Champion.

But who do I think will become the next first time champion? I'd have to say Jeff Hardy or MVP.

addy2hotty 12-05-2007 04:51 PM

Jeff, Regal & Finlay.

thedamndest 12-05-2007 06:18 PM

The Hardys, Finlay, definitely Regal, I can see Umaga winning it eventually but probably as a transition back to Cena.

thedamndest 12-05-2007 06:25 PM

Btw, I don't want the last one to happen but it probably will.

St. Jimmy 12-05-2007 06:30 PM

Jericho deserves a SOLID run with the belt.

Theo Dious 12-05-2007 07:56 PM

You know, this does make me think... has there been a new WWE or World champion in WWE this year? There usually is in a year. I wouldn't even count Morrison or Punk, mind you.

Theo Dious 12-05-2007 08:00 PM

Anwyays, Hardcore Holly and Mark Henry, though far from deserving, are always on my mind as potential first-time champions. MVP might well be the next first-timer, and assuming he doesn't slip up, he'd deserve it.

Stickman 12-05-2007 08:14 PM

Did you just say Hardcore Holly and Mark Henry? We're talking about deserving championship material.

Theo Dious 12-05-2007 08:18 PM

I said they were far from deserving, but pointing out that they hold a place as likely to become the next.

Since 96, since I don't feel like going back any further even though I do know the title histories from memory

96: Michaels, Sid
97: none
98: Austin, Kane, Rock, Foley
99: HHH, ...Vince
00: Angle
01: Jericho
02: Brock
03: none
04: Eddie, JBL, Orton
05: Cena, Batista
06: Edge, RVD, Rey Mysterio
07: none

Jeritron 12-05-2007 11:27 PM

That means 2008 will probably have a few, maybe not, but that seems to be a trend.

I can see Jeff Hardy picking up a short run, and either MVP or Kennedy getting a push to the World Heavyweight or WWE title as heels

TNA will probably never make another champion who hasn't been champion somewhere else (besides Christian)

Y2Ant 12-05-2007 11:31 PM

Steve Blackman

Skippord 12-05-2007 11:33 PM

CHRIS FUCKING SABIN

Jeritron 12-05-2007 11:34 PM

You know, Jeff Hardy has been wrestling with the WWE since 97

That means that if he wins a world title, he'll have been around in his company longer before getting the belt than anyone who ever won a world title. I think.

It took Shawn and Bret a while, since they were there since the 80s, but still not 10 years

Jeritron 12-05-2007 11:40 PM

You know, I"m not going to lie, when Umaga first came I hated him. And since a few of his fueds and some of his work with guys like Vince, HHH, Hardy and Lashley I've gotten to like him a bit. To me, he's over and a good bigman that they should roll with and not bury.

BUT, then and now I still maintain that if he wins the title the WWE title will no longer be the same. Even with mediocre champs there has still been a standard and I feel giving him the belt would be a slap in face to those standards, which I feel was done once before when it was given to Sid.

Innovator 12-05-2007 11:43 PM

If Jericho or HBK aren't going to win the Rumble, then the final two should be Jeff and Matt Hardy. I think it'd be a good story to tell.

Jeritron 12-05-2007 11:44 PM

I think it should be Jeff and HHH. That's if Jericho or HBK arne't going to win as well

Haha. Yes Michaels deserves to win the title for the first time, since he's never held it before.

I'd keep cracking wise, but you've actually got the right idea since by the rules of the WWE booking team Michaels has never held a world title, or headlined a wrestlemania.:y:

Y2Ant 12-05-2007 11:52 PM

I just couldn't picture HBK with the John Cena championship. Or Jericho for that matter. :'(

It's better than picturing John Cena with the John Cena championship

Jeritron 12-05-2007 11:56 PM

I'm not really sure whythey do that though. I'd assume its from some kind of merchandising standpoint. It's just odd to me that when Cena's not holding the belt the spinner sticks around. They just put a new spinner in it or stop the spinner to try and "personalize" it, but they should just revert back to the regular belt when he doesn't hold it.

Just like the Smoking Skull belt.

But of course they probably figure the spinner belt sells more toys and replicas than the plain one, so it stays on tv.

Y2Ant 12-06-2007 12:04 AM

Yeah it looks a bit retarded tbh. They should make a new rainbow one when Jeff wins it next year. Or maybe one with steroids inside if Kennedy wins it. :o

KYR 12-06-2007 12:18 AM

OK. ** cue FourFifty mark out here **

But I honestly believe that Kane deserves a decent title run.

Is it fair to discount him by including his one-day *sigh* reign back in '98?

This guy consistently puts out for the company. Shows up every week. Jobs when asked. Gives 100% in just about every match.

The guy deserves to be rewarded with a world title. I love his matches - how many big men can fly off the tope rope?

I'm not saying Jeff, Matt or MVP don't deserve a run, I just think Kane needs some recognition. :y:

Fox 12-06-2007 12:23 AM

Little kids buy that stupid fucking belt, because little kids like stupid fucking John Cena. It's not fair for anyone OVER the age of 13, but you get the idea.

I think CM Punk deserves to win the World Heavyweight Title. He's proven that he's got potential to be a huge star; they've just locked him down to the C-brand since he got to the WWE (and I'm SO surprised...) and haven't really given him anything dynamic to do with the ECW Title.

If not Punk, Jeff Hardy should get a WWE Title run, if only as an "award" sort of deal like Mick Foley's wins. Matt I just don't think is there yet.

Only other guy I can think of that should be there soon would be Kennedy. I know he's not the most popular guy on these forums right now, but the guy has that it-factor, if WWE would just capitalize on it and give him some good shit to say instead the crap they've been feeding him since he got to RAW.

Mr. JL 12-06-2007 12:30 AM

Finlay, Matt Hardy or Jeff Hardy... but I still think all three need about THREE big back-to-back wins from top stars in order to really be taken seriously as THE CHAMP

Michaels has held a world title? Why was I not informed?

Ahh, well. Can I suggest Triple H, then? He's a nice young up and comer...

I wouldn't count Kane's one day run as a disqualifier. He's technically held the strap, but not in any meaningful sense.

As much as I think Kane should get a solid title run when most people say I'm going to be a part of a thread it has something to do with goldust. Much love to Kane, but before I was legal to get ink I was a mark for *inhales deeply* Gooooolllldusssst!!!! *schomp!*

You should get "I Still Remember" tattooed below the Kane mask in gold lettering.
