Do wrestlers get paid more if the hold a title?
I don't just mean the world titles, but the smaller ones as well.
|
I dunno. I mean, they've got a contract that says that they make x-amount of dollars in x-amount of year/s. I think that might be just a guarantee that they'll make at least that much, I'm not sure what the perks of being a title-holder would be.
|
In theory, yes. As they should be featured more on TV and get ppv spots. Plus their merch would be pushed a little harder and made avaible at the shows and whatever. But I'm not sure if they get a bonus for being a champion.
|
Back in the day they did, now I would agree with what BDC said.
|
Although I think you actually get paid less if you are a tag champion.

In fact, Jeff Jarrett has only not returned to take the title because he can't afford the pay cut.

Angle is getting paid more TNA than he did in WWE, from what I understand.
I can't remember if WWE has gaurenteed minimum contracts were there works is going to get at least X amount of dollars each period and then gets ppv bonuses and merch and so forth. |
Yeah but TNA won't pay anybody but Sting and Kurt Angel that money, of course they would for Austin, or Cena, or Goldberg though. These are special cases.

I'd imagine any extra cash would be gained indirectly, possibly through increased merchandising (if they have a cut of the sales in their contract).
