Which system should I get
Hold on, poll coming
Also, tell me why. |
BTW, I'm strongly leaning towards X-Box. I've played the Wii, and it is ok.
|
360 is superior at this point.
|
360 all the way
|
PS3, better in the long run. 360 if you are in it for medium term.
|
LOL PS3 shouldn't even be a consideration.
|
Lol don't tell me this forum is populated by a bunch of 360 fanboys.
|
No just smart buyers.
|
What part of RROD = smart buy?
360 has more games. That's it. For now anyways. |
360 gets the superior multi-platform games as well.
Really, at this point it almost doesn't matter which you get since there's only going to be two or three series/games worth playing which are console exclusive. Everything else is going to be multi-platform. But again, at this point the 360 is getting the superior ports. So unless you REALLY need Final Fantasy or Metal Gear (both of which have a fair probability of being ported ANYWAY), or you REALLY need a Blu-Ray player, 360 is the way to go. |

And 360 has more games and better games. After all, isn't that what gaming consoles are about? You know, good games? |

360: Better games, they've basically won this generation in terms of software already. The PS3 will get a few exclusives, but they've lost a lot of their staples and are losing more. Unless you have a hardon for expensive units, BDC, or really need a Blu Ray Player, you're probably better off with an XBox, RROD or not. |

But so was the PS2's DRE issue, and that didn't make it any less the best system of last generation. In short, Seph is a moron. |
RROD?
|
red rings of death. I know 3 people who own Xbox 360a and all have had the problem and have had to ship it to microsoft for 4 weeks to get it fixed. When my friend steve got his back it was still a lil screwey in that it wont read all 360 discs and sometimes you have have to eject/replace the disc over a dozen times to get it to work.

I bought mine over 2 years ago and have had no problem.
|
Do brand new units still have the red ring of death? Or have they fixed the glitch?

Got mine in July and haven't had one yet, touch wood :o

Get the 360, just make sure you try to find a new one with the 65nm Core processor, it runs cooler at load than the old one ran at idle, and thanks to that and slightly upgraded cooling, the RROD will be a thing of the past. Still, it's likely to happen to everyones older console eventually.
Also, I've owed all 3 consoles, and it's 360 all the way. |
|
360 is your best bet. They have a lot of PS3's former exclusives, and of all their shared titles, the 360 version is usually better anyway. People keep saying PS3 will come up eventually, but developers really seem to fucking hate it, and (as evidenced by the aforementioned crappier versions of shared titles) it seems to be a bitch to develop for. Wii has some great first and 2nd party ish and some ok 3rd party ish. They also have the Virtual Console, but if your old systems are still in working order you might not need it so much. Of course, I suspect that in 3 or 4 years time, they'll have a ridiculous number of classic games available up from the just ok amount they have now.

For the count, new 360's dont get the red ring of death. well hardly ever anyway,
If I were you I'd buy an xbox purely because it has the best games and the best online community and onlien in general. The only problem with the 360 is that you can only have 4 controllers, so when I'm playing smackdown vs raw only 4 of us can play, unlike 6 of us like we used to do on the ps2. I've got a wii for crimbo, can't wait to start playing it. But xbox is the better of the 3, not by far though. |
4 controlers/6 controlers...not a problem.
|
Ive seen the same games played on both systems in HD and the PS3 has the better graffics by far. This time next year the PS3 will be the better system. Its just like when the Xbox first came out the PS2 was way better, but as xbox came out with more games it was the dominant system.
|
You're joking. You honestly think the original X Box was better than the PS2? :wtf:
It had better graphics and online. That's where the superiority ended. |

Well say what you want, I feel that if ps2 and xbox had come out at the same time, the ps2 would not have been able to compete. Between the online, graffix and the lack of a need for memory cards.
|
Yeah graphics are better, does graphics make a great game? look at final fantasy 7... you played as a block.
Also IMO the tv you play on makes the betetr graphics. My friend has a non HD PS3 and I have a HD 360, my graphics slay his, he still goes on about how his are better though... |

Graffix doesnt mean a better game, but it does add to make a better console.

So you are saying that graffics have no bearing on how well a console does?

It's not like I don't want the PS3 to succeed. Sony's just done all they can to shoot themselves in the foot. |
