Would you buy Bobby Lashley as a World Champion...

If he had someone like Joel Gertner as a mouthpiece?

I wouldn't buy it, but I'd illegally download it.

Lock Jaw 12-23-2007 06:05 PM

Seriously though, getting Bobby Lashley to stop talking would be a huge step up for him. And if you put someone who can really talk as his mouthpiece, I could see him as champ.

BigDaddyCool 12-23-2007 06:23 PM

He has the look and muscle mass.

Xero 12-23-2007 06:29 PM

I had always seen him as Black Lesnar. He's basically the same build, similar background, and even has had Lesnar's pyros, similar music and tights. I mean, seriously, if he had someone who could talk like Paul Heyman but was black I'd think they were trying to fool us into thinking Lesnar has a skin condition.

St. Jimmy 12-23-2007 06:33 PM

Touche'.

Lock Jaw 12-23-2007 06:38 PM

Even if Lashley doesn't talk, I just find his appearance and mannerisms goofy looking. He looks like he has the head of a 12 year old on a "monster" type body.

Lesnar at least looked kinda threatening.

Porcupine 12-23-2007 06:47 PM

I would buy Bobby Lashley as a heel world champion even if he didn't have a mouthpiece. Use his voice and crappy mannerisms to piss off the crowd.

Basically, if he's heel, I'm okay with whatever he does. If he's a good guy, he sucks.

In a couple of years, maybe. Right now? No.

NoRoolz 12-23-2007 08:00 PM

I just hate his ears.

Avenger 12-23-2007 08:04 PM

Pretty sure he was ECW World Champion? No?

Savio 12-23-2007 08:07 PM

Savio 12-23-2007 10:23 PM

So he was champ back before ECW was bought by WWE?

Dorkchop 12-23-2007 10:30 PM

It's not like we have a choice or not. I like the guy, but he needs a lot more work to be a champ on Raw. He looks too nice to be a heel champ. I think if he grew a beard that would actually help a lot (I'm totally serious). His early WWE matches with Finlay were great. That feud brought out the best in both guys.

Sure you do. Don't watch.

Bobby Lashley = Buff Wayne Brady

Mr. Nerfect 12-24-2007 12:23 AM

My dad picked up on him looking like Wayne Brady, so it's not just the smarks. One day, Lashley needs to be talking, and Jericho needs to have another Lance Storm/Forest Gump moment, and come out "Wayne Brady...would you please do us all a really big favour, forget your lyrics, and SHUT THE HELL UP!"

Honestly, Bobby Lashley reminds me of that Dredrick Tatum character from The Simpsons.

Paul Heyman is great at hiding a guy's weakness, and highlighting his strengths. His plans for Bobby Lashley were to have him replace Big Show as the top heel of the ECW brand, as Heyman's chosen one. I really have to agree that this is the best course of direction to go. Bobby Lashley would make quite an effective heel. He is not ready to hold the WWE, World Heavyweight or even ECW Championship, though.
