Great, a return the was totally screwed up beat out every other angle they could think of.
Additionally, wtf is Cena/Khali doing there? :wtf:

I voted for the 'Swog.

Purgatory 12-25-2007 08:02 AM

I too voted for the 'Swog.

on a side note, I was dissapointed with Y2J's return. I'm also disapointed JBL's return announcement didn't make it. :(

Fox 12-25-2007 10:34 AM

I'm going to vote for Cena vs. Khali because nobody thought he was going to win cause Khali's so big and dominating and he wanted the WWE Title, but Cena OVERCAME THE ODDZ IT WAS SO COOL!!!

Kane Knight 12-25-2007 10:57 AM

I voted Austin/Santino. Even when Santino was a face, I wanted someone to punch him in the mouth.

addy2hotty 12-25-2007 11:30 AM

Well, they really messed up that return didn't they?

Xero 12-25-2007 11:54 AM

What, no Chris Benoit memorial show?

Where's MVP/Hardy on that list?

I dont mean to dog on everyone who likes Hardy/MVP, but WTF?!?! Can someone explain the love to me?

I mean, what is so great about it? They kind of touch on the subject every few weeks that they might have a match someday. Like I think it is dead already. They did a couple non match segments and everyone is blowing their loads about how it is the best in years. I think it is only because it is the first long term booked fued in years and they are busting on it.

How can a fued with a boxing match that MVP wasnt in, a free throw contest and a Pizza eating contest be so good?

I just dont see anything to like about it.

Splaya 12-25-2007 02:40 PM

It was the fact that they stepped around every little thing, without them actully getting in the ring and wrestling. At first, it was a step back because of MVP's heart condition, but fans caught on with it, and helped it to become one of the best feud's of the year. Name me a better undercard feud that was better this year

DId they ever even have a match? Or a finish? How does that even count as a fued.

Santino vs anyone is better than that!

Fox 12-25-2007 03:11 PM

It's called a non-linear build up. Not every "feud" has to be

1) Good guy wins title

2) Bad guy insults him, challenges for title

3) Bad guy cheap attacks good guy after title defense on RAW

4) Good guy beats Bad guy via DQ on PPV

5) Good guy fights Bad guy on Saturday Night's Main Event and wins clean.

END FEUD

No, some feuds, in fact, usually the most entertaining ones, have more layers and levels than that.

Sting didn't wrestle for over a year and his feud with Hogan and the nWo was the biggest thing in wrestling for that whole year.

The fact is that people are sick of load-blowing by guys who don't seem to give a damn over titles that don't seem to mean shit. Honestly, when Umaga held the IC title going into 'Mania, he had about as much credibility as champion as a kid who bought a plastic belt from Toys 'R Us. Look at what MVP/Hardy was:

-A budding superstar and an established worker, both of whom are entertaining to watch
-A champion who showed a great deal of pride for his title, helped along by an announcer who hyped that title as well as the champion.
-A feud that was NOT a rush to a payoff match. How long has it been since a cowardly heel champion spent months successfully ducking his challenger? Additionally, when has a reluctant tag team ever held the titles as long as those two?
-The feud technically hasn't ended, and it's gone on for this long largely due to accident and injury. The feud will continue when Hardy returns, and it will be awesome, because everything about it is good shit that people enjoy watching.

TerranRich 12-25-2007 07:50 PM

My favorite moment: DOUBLE DOUBLE E.

addy2hotty 12-25-2007 08:33 PM

I BET MONEY that when Matt returns it will be the generic good guy/bad guy feud.

Mr. Nerfect 12-25-2007 09:30 PM

Matt Hardy/MVP was not a perfect feud, but I've never seen anyone claim that it was. It was pretty fucking great, though.

When it started, I didn't think it'd become much, but what really did it for me was their WWE Tag Team Title reign. It was the first tag title reign either Hardy has had with a different partner, so it was kind of interesting to me.

Anyway, Chris Jericho's return wins hands down for me.

FourFifty 12-25-2007 09:32 PM

I voted for Loose Cannon

Kane Knight 12-25-2007 10:48 PM

MVP/Hardy got my attention like almost nothing else has in the last year. However, Jericho's return got me watching Raw for a few weeks. In all seriousness, even if they COMPLETELY fucked it up, that would still make it my top pick for that alone.

I'm surprised that the marks didn't give Vince McMahon/Hornswoggle and Triple H/Umaga some more love, being the marks that they are.

I want to be clear on this: I actually expected it to be Jericho and overall it's probably the logical choice. The rest of the choices just go to show how bad WWE are at picking things the fans would have liked.
Fucking HHH vs Umaga? HHH vs Booker T was a more interesting feud... shit, Lawler vs Booker T was more interesting. Of course, Booker works for someone else now, so...

Theo Dious 12-26-2007 06:14 AM

But I still voted for the 'Swog.

Unfotunately enough, everyone knew Cena was gonna overcome the odds because he's Vince's ass-slave. The fact that fans know this totally ruins any element of surprise.

... you... thought he was... being...

...no, I can't, my brain will eat itself.

Purgatory 12-26-2007 07:35 AM

If he was being sarcastic, then I appologize. It's just that I deal with so many Cena marks in a daily basis, I just fell into killing what I percieved as common markism.

The selection's kinda shit, so it's hard not to pick Jericho as the big moment
