Resident Evil: Degeneration

Heh. And here I am thinking this is a brand new game. Instead it's a CG movie. Don't ask why I threw it in the video games forum.

Here's the trailer I found at gametrailers.com

D Mac 01-02-2008 11:33 PM

Im gonna say Straight to DVD....

Just doesnt seem like something that would be released in the theaters.

Ive heard that there are actually supposed to be 3 of these films coming out. The plans were in the making while RE: Extinction was being talked about. They wanted to do more movies but felt Extinction would be the last live action one in the bunch. They figured they could do alot more making it animated.

Crimson 01-03-2008 12:03 AM

Love the games, hate the movies..but maybe these will be better?

ClockShot 01-03-2008 09:22 AM

Well. Was the Final Fantasy movie good in theatres?

Xero 01-03-2008 10:57 AM

Suck it, Zombies.

No....

It wasnt really a good film but I think if it would of been straight to DVD it would have been better.

Xero 01-03-2008 06:18 PM

It doesn't automatically get better if it's straight to DVD. Crap on the movie screen will be crap on your TV.

KingofOldSchool 01-03-2008 07:41 PM

Are they going to go around killing hordes of zombie X-Pac's?

If so, count me in.

...That, as well as DVD and (for some reason) UMD. All on Dec. 30th.

Responding to a Level 5 Alert, Special Agent Leon Kennedy, joined by Claire Redfield, discover flesh devouring zombies rampaging throughout Harvardville Airport. After rescuing Senator Davis from a grisly death, the pair learn that Curtis, a revenge-seeking terrorist, has masterminded the attack. Before they can catch him, Curtis injects himself with a sinister G virus and morphs into a monster. Can Leon and Claire take down the mutated man-creature before he annihilates the planet or will the infectious, deadly virus take over the world?
Sounds like a meta-sequel to RE2.

UmbrellaCorporation 10-20-2008 06:34 PM

So he's another Birkin basically?

Can't wait for this.

And also peep the Red band clip after that.

Love it, though the animation is stiff as Hell. I'll still say this is my fave RE movie (fuck you, Paul A). I marked out to hear Claire's original VO back to work.

Kalyx triaD 11-11-2008 12:28 AM

Something about the 3:10 mark that made me feel like gameplay was about to begin.

UmbrellaCorporation 11-11-2008 05:47 PM

God, I am so glad to see that it looks so awesome.

Considering the other movies, this movie doesn't look bad at all and it seems to be much more true to the actual video game. All of the RE games seem to happen in a smaller area like a mansion, a city, or a village. I feel it gives the series a much creepier feeling because it gives a sense of entrapment. That's what this movie does with the whole airport thing. However, the odds of two previous RE characters ending up in the same airport at the same time during an alien outbreak is pushing it a little.

Ignoring Kano in addition seems like the easy, carefree and problemless answer to more of life's questions than you may ever know.

And it's not "the odds," Leon's called in explicitly because of his experience with similar disasters. That's like saying "What a coincidence, that a bunch of firemen just happened to show up where the fire is."
