4 Guitar Hero Games in 2008!

In the new EGM magazine there is an article about it thats already making its rounds in the forums...

2008 will See 4 new Guitar Hero games....

Guitar Hero 4
Guitar Hero: Aerosmith
and
2 untitled Guitar Hero projects....

There is also a some talk about that with them dropping four games this year alone that downladable content for Guitar Hero is pretty much going to go in the shitter.

Wow, the milking of this series is pretty ridiculous, considering its age and the fact you can get downloadable content now.

Dave Youell 01-04-2008 04:15 PM

4 in 1 year is pretty fucking crazy

Blitz 01-04-2008 05:00 PM

I don't give a fuck I will buy them all.

Kane Knight 01-04-2008 05:01 PM

DS 01-04-2008 05:41 PM

Should have stopped at 2.

Kalyx triaD 01-04-2008 06:01 PM

Interesting...

Extreme Angle 01-04-2008 06:03 PM

na 3 should of been the last.. then just bring out big downloads like... 1200 for metallica edtion and you get like 10 songs.

Dorkchop 01-04-2008 06:09 PM

There is such thing as too much of a good thing.

OssMan 01-04-2008 06:29 PM

Guitar Hero: Aerosmith

KingofOldSchool 01-04-2008 06:47 PM

Guitar Hero: The Who
Guitar Hero: Pearl Jam

I would be forever happy.

Shaggy 01-04-2008 06:53 PM

A Metallica version would make me insane...

My friend and I were wondering if Guitar Hero was gonna sell out and just start putting songs that dont even have great guitar. Dance Dance Revolution is doing a Disney Channel version in a few months. When will Guitar Hero do the same... younger fans would buy the game up probably if they are able to play songs from Highschool Musical, Hannah Montana or perhaps the Cheetah Girl movies..

KingofOldSchool 01-04-2008 06:54 PM

Guitar Hero: Naked Brothers Band

Kane Knight 01-04-2008 06:59 PM

Guitar Hero: Papa Roach.

:shifty:

KingofOldSchool 01-04-2008 07:06 PM

Guitar Hero: Emopalooza

Xero 01-04-2008 07:11 PM

Seriously, I'd be all over a Keyboard Hero, namely because you'd likely need to actually know how to play the fucking thing instead of mashing buttons.

I'm lame, I know.

"You need to KNOW how to play it? That's a baby's toy!"

Disturbed316 01-04-2008 07:45 PM

Thats rather gay.

Xero 01-04-2008 08:42 PM

So what, because you'd need to LEARN something more than five buttons it's gay?

Blitz 01-04-2008 08:43 PM

Try mashing buttons in Guitar Hero, see how far it gets you.

Xero 01-04-2008 08:45 PM

I'm not saying it would work (I've never played it and never plan to play it, for the record), just saying at least a Keyboard Hero would actually give you a skill instead of a meaningless set of controls which could give you nothing in life.

Aside from Penis Envy.

Blitz 01-04-2008 08:46 PM

It's a video game. Is it really necessary for it to teach you skills?

You wanna play rock songs, pick up a real guitar and learn it. You wanna have some quick fun and feel like a rock star, play Guitar Hero.

Blitz 01-04-2008 08:48 PM

And I doubt a Keyboard Hero would teach you how to play a real one. Maybe the basics. But the control would be massively simplified, just like Guitar Hero. Maybe 10 keys tops.

Xero 01-04-2008 08:53 PM

It's such a shame that the general population is so stupid that they would have to resort to that.

The game would probably be ridiculously simplified, you're right, and it's a shame.

Speaks the truth to be honest.

Kalyx triaD 01-04-2008 08:57 PM

On the other hand, Rock Band's expert drum setting gets you on your way to drumming for real.

Xero 01-04-2008 08:58 PM

I had assumed that would have had to be pretty realistic.

You know, I play guitar. The guys who designed Harmonix, which include members of Tribe and Din played guitars. They knew what they were doing, quite frankly. While it's not a direct equation, there are analogs you can take right into playing guitar. A lot of them.

That is, the guys at Harmonix who designed Guitar Hero. Sorry.

Fignuts 01-04-2008 10:48 PM

Come on, get off guitar hero's nuts xero. From what I've seen guitar hero has inspired more people to actually learn guitar than it has detracted people from learning. To play a lot of the songs as well as you feel like you are playing them in GH would take years of tedious and repetitive practice. If it is truly a goal of yours to play these songs for real, no one is going to say "Oh well I can play it on GH, thats good enough." But some people, like myself, have other hobbies and interests that they feel much more passionate about. Life is short, and I don't want to sacrifice the other things I want to do in life to master these songs on a real guitar. So it is an outlet for those of us who want to feel like a rockstar, but not so much that we want to become one.

Kane Knight 01-04-2008 10:54 PM

Guitar Hero has helped me with my crippled fingers, actually.

Also, it encouraged me to learn a couple of songs. I'm not really playing leads, but I'm playing them.

f course, I was already playing guitar.

Hell, I heard that if you can drum on Hard mode you could probably drum on a real kit

DS 01-04-2008 11:01 PM

I wonder how long it will take them to do Guitar Hero: Acoustics. I would probably pick that up if it had support for RB guitars and a decent track list.

I already had experience on drums in my church days and let me tell you, Expert is the way to go. Hard mode subtracts certain 'notes' that make it harder for me to keep up with if I know a song well. But if you have no exp on the real thing I guess playing on Hard wouldn't kill you.

I really wish it had a free-form drum mode. I always play quick beats before a song starts since that's the closest thing to free-stylin that's in the game.

Same can be true of guitars, really. I'll screw up parts in guitars because I'm "hearing" extra notes.

El Fangel 01-05-2008 12:48 AM

FFS over the initial shock of seeing it and not looking closely, I see that its a fake :'( I was to kill the fucker who made that
