Movies that stand the test of time..

I was flipping through the channels and Cool Hand Luke was on AMC.. Now no matter how dated this movie is, I could watch it over and over again.. The story is still great and you can still really relate to the characters even though it's based in a 60's rural prison featuring a chain gang..

I don't really know where I'm going with this other than movies like Cool Hand Luke still stands the test of time, even though it's 40 years old.. It'll prolly still be great (to me atleast) in another 40 years..

Terminator 2 and Jurassic Park

These 2 movies, although the first two movies to use CG in a major way, still look as though they could have came out last month. It's that solid. And the stories are awesome too.

It's hard to belive they're over 15 years old.

Not to mention, it was a decade late to be one of the first movies to use CG in a major way. Starfighter, while visually dated, is probably the only movie that can rightfully take that. Then there was Star Trek, and oh yeah. Didn't ET have a decent amount of CG in it, along side the puppets? That was only 1984, and CG was already ubiquitous. I mean, again, all these movies have dated visuals, but they were used in major ways.
