Ignorance Is Bliss (Goldeneye On XBLA)
 

Well GoldenEye, the old N64 FPS that lectures little Halo, Resistance, and Killzone about how they don't appreciate high rez and how he traveled fifteen miles for fragfests before the internets came along, was coming to XBLA complete with online multiplayer. It was shot down over a vague issue involving Nathan Do, Mike Soft, and money. Too bad really, I would've liked to see how its multiplayer would hold up against the new gen with added online funtionality.

They were almost done, too. I would've liked not knowing that, though.

Are you trying to impress people when you talk like that? Wouldn't it have been easier if you just got to the point and said "Goldeneye was 2 months from release with high resolution textures and online multiplayer but it was canceled. This is the 2nd time this has happened."

omg, this would have been amazing. Especially with dual joystick control instead of c-buttons.

There was a control setting in the game that let you play with two N64 controllers so you could have two sticks back then.

That would have been awkward back then. At the time, c-buttons were perfectly fine. I was a god with c-buttons. These days though, I require two joysticks though. Online would have been awesome. :'(

Was this canceling recently...because I read a article in a videogame magazine the other day that was stating they were re-working on it..

This sucks if this is true because I keep on logging on in hopes to see this up on XBL.

Yeah James bond is great and all, but that doesn't change the fact that PD has 1354137541451754 times more shit to do and play than goldeneye. Seriously, anyone who thinks Goldeneye is better than Perfect Dark is saying so out of denial, due to their bond fandom. Logicaly there is no contest,

How was goldeneye better, outside of the bond liscense?

The biggest point for Goldeneye over Perfect Dark was the fact that PD's weapons were extremely unbalanced, but custom weapon sets completely made up for that.

Perfect Dark was the better game in everyway. Goldeneye was is a great, but technically speaking, Perfect Dark bested it in every manner imaginable.

But whatever...

Perfect Dark was slower when playing with many people, but that's the only issue I have with it. Otherwise, I loved the laptop gun. That or Goldeneye on XBLA or the VC will make me happy.

Perfect Dark with a solid framerate (even with max players) would own so sexy like. Hard to believe how messed up Zero turned out.

Did Perfect Dark have the following cheats in Multiplayer:

Paintball mode
DK mode

That is what made the game great, bond with a massive overly inflated head getting killed with 1 paintball shot

That and hiding in the air duct over the loo, that ruled!

When I saw the link on a website saying, Goldeneye 007 coming to XBLA, I nearly fell out of my seat. But of course they just trapt you into reading that it is not coming out for it. I hope something happens so it does come to the XBLA because in my eyes, it is one of, if not the best FPS ever!

Technically PD may have been better, but the fact that you were Bond in Goldeneye with awesome music and tons of classic gaming moments means, Goldeneye > PD.
