David Lagana, who was on the ECW writing crew after a run as head writer of Smackdown, was let go today by WWE. No reasons were given. Lagana, who was a big wrestling fan before being hired, had been with the company since early 2002.

Wonder what this means for the future.

Probably nothing.

Very surprising news. I thought Lagana would be mainstay for a long time to come. Maybe this is good news for the WWE and ECW.

The word I am getting is that Dusty Rhodes will take over at the head of ECW creative for the departed David Lagana. Given the recent ECW product, that can be nothing but a huge step up. To be fair, you can't completely blame Lagana for a WWE product but as the head man of ECW, he did have a degree of control and responsibility for the product so he needs to take his lumps for the state of the brand.

Dusty being there could be good.

honest question:

What are the expectations of the ECW brand? With that roster, I mean really, what do they want from it?

Dusty needs to start calling ECW the "Muthaship."

He should bring Cody in and start a tag team with him called "Mah Thun and Me".

They could even do skits where it's like a 1970's sitcom.
