Oblivion question *ANY HELP APPRECIATED*

Ok, so I was suspended from the Mages’ Guild, for, of all things, killing my reflection to get the wood for the staff you build towards the end of the Shivering Isles expansion (apparently the reflection of yourself counts as a guild member [:wtf:?]). So, anyway. Eventually I get back to good ol’ Mr. Polus at the AU in IC, and he tells me I’ll need to collect 20 Daedra Hearts and 20 Vampire Dust. Now, the 20 Daedra Hearts are not a problem; I can find them easily by killing off Dremoras in the Oblivion gates and whatever. The problem is with the Vampire Dust. I don't really feel like going places where I potentially fight Vampires and end up with Vampirism, and I’ve been all over the place, all the provinces’ alchemical shops and Mages Guild (I can still buy items and spells from people there except the leader of each city's guild), and only come up with 6 Vampire Dust so far. So I guess my question is, is there anyplace anyone knows of that sells vampire dust, or is there any kind of workaround at all to the patching of the old item duplication glitch?

Sorry it was kind of long, but like I said any help would be awesome.

Even if I wanted to, I wouldn't know the first place to find any to kill (Been to Gutted Mine for the Azura shrine quest and one other place already, though I can't remember where, and like I say it's too damn risky. I'd rather buy or dupe me some instead.

OssMan 01-26-2008 05:22 PM

Put a vampire dust in the enchanted chest and you should have 10 more within 24 hours, then do it again after a week

OssMan 01-26-2008 05:25 PM

Also, there is usually a fight going on between an Imperial Legion Battlemage and a mage apprentice when I go to the Arcane University. Like he will get all pissed and start hitting the mage. One time I was just standing around watching them happen cause I like to take the daggers off the fallen mages, and I think somebody hit me and now like half of the mages guild fucking hates me. I am the Arch Mage and I didn't get suspended but a bunch of the scholars get angry when I talk to them, "Why do the guards insist on letting you ramble in university grounds" but some of them give their normal response. Also my disposition with Raminus Polis is a permanent 0.

bigdaddysuperfreak 01-27-2008 12:10 AM

I dont know how you managed that because I have knocked Raminus unconscious have his disposition was still 100. In any case you can always use the dupe method, all you need is 10 scrolls of the same type.

I’m not the Arch-Mage yet. Probably would’ve helped if I would have mentioned that, but still...

Uh, WTF are you talking about?:?:

Just get a mediocer cure disease spell. If you catch Vampirism cast that shit with-in 36 hours (in-game time) or before the next time you sleep. Then you have nothing to worry about.

Forte record I have played that entire game as a Vampire and it rocks.

Only problem is, I’ve got two separate save files going, and the one I’m focusing most of my efforts on is the one where I haven’t caught the full Vampirism for the first time so that I can speak with Raminus and do the Vampirism Cure quest, so that in the future, when I catch Porphyric Hemophilia, I can do as you said without having to worry about suffering the effects of Sun Damage and all that, as I will no longer become a full vampire. Thanks for the advice though.

Edit: Also, It occurred to me to use UESP, so I have and now have a pretty good idea where to get some Vampire Dust. So if a mod wants to close this down, since I have all my info., I’d rather not waste any more of everyone’s time on something I’ve pretty much got boiled down to where I can manage on my own.

Destor 01-27-2008 03:17 PM

If you cast the cure disease you wont have the Porphric Hemophilia anymore.

FTR day 1 Vampire aren't harmed by the sun.

OssMan 01-27-2008 07:33 PM

yeah being a vampire is where its at pretty much. just stay in day 1, to pass the time just fast travel to places far away

DAMN iNATOR 01-29-2008 11:49 AM

Mission accomplished. I finished the Vampirism Cure quest and drank the potion from Melisande, delivered the other one to Hassildor for his wife, got my 1G gp’s...all good. Now I can focus on finishing off the Mages Guild line and then start making some dough off my leftover Vampire Dust, especially once I have the ability to use the enchanted chest to get more of the stuff and take it to what’s-his-name at Seridur’s...:p

You cured vampirism? :nono:

Well, don't forget, when collecting your reward from the count to keeping asking him for it, you get whatever he gave you again and again and again until you stop

Jalapeño 01-30-2008 05:41 PM

How do you get vampirism? I've slayed loads of vampires but I haven't caught vampirism.

D Mac 01-30-2008 06:33 PM

I just borrowed the PC version and am adding mods for it.

Including a nude chick mod.

Let them beat on you a while.

bigdaddysuperfreak 02-02-2008 07:52 PM

You can get it through the dark brother hood quests also.

You can contract porphoric hemophilia by participating in the Dark Brotherhood questline where Vicente Valtieri will offer you the opportunity to become a vampire after completing quest The Assassinated Man :y:
