You're right, I'm sorry.

There's a dragon outside the window.....honestly, go look!

Hasn't there only been one rumble where weapons were ok though. Didn't Finlay run out early anyway to save the midget, I would of DQ'd him for that if anything

I remember the No Holds Barred match between HBK and Mankind for the WWF/E Championship ending as a dq due to outside interference. Anything is possible in the WWE.

2001, part of it was an unofficial "hardcore Royal Rumble" when Kane, Raven, Saturn, Al Snow, Steve Blackman, Grand Master Sexay were all in the ring whaling each other with various weapons. Snow rolled a bowling ball into Raven's nuts.

Additionally, a steel chair was a large part of Austin's elimination of Kane to win the thing.

They also cited Finlay's jumping the gun on the countdown clock as a reason for his disqualification too, and in fairness, I can't remember anyone jumping the gun, weapon in hand before. I'm not saying it's right, just that if you look at it that way, there's a kayfabe explanation for it.

Also, Cactus Jack and Chainsaw Charlie at Royal Rumble 1998 virtually turned the match into a weapons brawl.

That was my most favourite rumble moment, 10 minutes of gold that was.

Tommy Dreamer used weapons in the 2003 Royal Rumble. As did Jericho and Christian.

NeanderCarl 01-28-2008 10:25 AM

It's a major inconsistency, but as I said, nobody has ever come into the ring with weapons before they were officially part of the match, therefore it was illegal weapon-based interference, so there's something to cling to.

NeanderCarl 01-28-2008 10:27 AM

Although Rick Rude wasn't disqualified for jumping the buzzer in 1990... AND he used Hogan's tank top as a weapon against him! Damn it, WWE!

Evil Vito 01-28-2008 10:37 AM

Yeah, I remember in 2001 Al Snow jumped the gun and attacked Raven outside the ring...but the refs refused to let him enter until the buzzer sounded.

Remmebering that I guess its not TOTALLY out of the question that Finlay was DQ'ed for jumping the gun with a weapon...but still pretty stupid. I would have DQ'ed him for depriving us of a midget toss :(

That's what everybody assumed in the arena, because Finlay just appeared before the countdown ever started.

Also, Hornswoggle was never technically "eliminated", so he may very well have claim to that title shot.

I was really hoping we were not gonna see Horny again after he went under the ring. You know...to make people forget that he was in the rumble. Then the final two participants fall over at the same time and they start wondering whos feet touched first.....Then suddenly Horny re-apears and hops in the ring and is named the winner.
