An 8 because he's so consistent but he doesn't do anything special to grab me and slap me in the face and make me say "whoa".

He plays Denzel Washington in every movie. Just like how Al Pacino plays Al Pacino in every movie.

Dunno, watch the Panic in Needle Park, The Godfather, Scarface, Scent of a Woman and Donnie Brasco and tell me they're the same. Sure he shouts a lot but seriously you can't really mean that?

You can pick a clip from 95% of his flicks and you would be able to tell they weren't from the same movie.

Seriously one of the best actors out there. He has made some shit films, but who hasn't?

I don't think the problem is really his films, he tends to get quality scripts. The problem is his bland acting. he would play a sports hero the same way he would play a middle aged man with downs-syndrome. There is little to no variety in his performences, which makes him one of the most boring actors you can find.

I gotta say, Denzel's doing pretty good so far. So if there's any nay sayers out there who want to knock him down a notch- they better do it soon.
