Besides the mythology story arc, which Episodes are particularly good?

Both episodes featuring Tooms are good. (Season 1)
Bad Blood is hilarious (Season 5)
I really like Jose Chung's 'From Outer Space' (Season 3)

X-Cops where it's a crossover with "Cops".

XFiles had its moments of pure shite. But for the most part it was better than most stuff on TV

You clearly haven't seen One Tree Hill.

I believe Bruce Campbell was in an episode.

He was. And it was a pretty good one, from what I remember.

I always seem to like the X-Files episodes that don't really take themselves very seriously, stuff like Humbug, Bad Blood, Small Potatoes, the Dreamland 2 parter... episodes like that.

I don't think I watched it much beyond the end of Season 6 though.

Great episodes that aren't myth arc?

hmmm, I tend to find these ones the most enjoyable. Theydon't require you to keep watching and get involved, so they're not as addicting or ambitious as the main storyline.

But they're really good. Off the top of my head I'd reccomend:

Paper hearts
Folie a Deux
Drive
The Host
X Cops
Dreamland 1 and 2
Bad Blood

prob my favorite non comedy tv show ever made. 99% of the episodes from seasons 1-6 are the goods. So just pick from that.
