Lame.
Come up with something new ffs. |
Freddy Kruger played by someone other than Robert Englund directed by Michael Bay
why that just sounds glorious |
Yeah, without Englund it wont be the same
|
Englund IS Freddy. I am very curious to see who will take the role though.
|
So are they doing remakes for both Friday the 13th and NOES?

but they better not suck or i'll kill em with a glove with finger knives.
|
Friday I'm not AS upset about...but NOES still brings the scary today...and if it's anyone but Englund then it will suck ass.
Hated the Chainsaw remake, hated Halloween...doubt I'll like Friday or this. Bah. |

But Nobody can replace England ...why not just recast him. |
Yeah, he's in his early 60's but there is no reason for Robert Englund to not play Freddy.. As said earlier, he is Freddy.. I don't mind the addition to the franchise but not casting Englund is a huge mistake..
|
Yay.

Why must Hollywood mess up everything good?
Indiana Jones 4 should not happen. |
Yes, obviously this needs to exist.
Because movies these days exist to bring us a constant stream of pain. |

OMFG
Hey Lara  |
Enough of the remakes and dredging up old franchises. Come up with something new already!
|
|
If it's not Robert Englund doing his thing, then this movie and everyone involved with it can go fuck themselves with various fruits and vegetables.

Think of something fucking new already. Cloverfield was different, and it SEEMS to have worked. not saying EVERY movie should be like cloverfield but something orginal once in a while works. |
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
|
It was shit even with Englund after ?? I dunno the first couple movies anyway.
|
Nightmare on Elm Street 4 was the tits, Hero.
First, as a huge NOES fan, I have to say that I'm against the bastardization of Wes Craven's masterpiece, and one of the most iconic stars of the screen in history. On that note, if Hollywood is so desperate for ideas that they ARE going ahead with this, I doubt we'll see Robert Englund reprise his role as Freddy. First, he's too old. If they want to restart the SERIES, then that means sequels, prequels, and more sequels. There are tons of talented actors in Hollywood. I think it will be an awesome challenge for them to have to search out and find one who can portray Freddy's physicality and voice. |
To bring some good news to this thread....
They are getting ready to speak to actors to play Freddy... and #1 on their list is--------Robert Englund Websites are reporting that Englund is the first choice in casting....but my question is... Is it a remake if you have the same guy from all the films? Or Is it a sequel/prequel? Remake to me means---complete recasting---while hearing Englund might be back as Freddy makes me happy, it just doesnt make sense when they are saying its a remake. I read this takes place before the freddy movies so I would love to see this as kind of a "Hannible Rising" type movie. Start him off as his normal human self and then by the end of the movie have him be officially evil Freddy Krueger. |

Are they gonna recast Johnny Depp to get sucked through the bed??
|
Usually remakes are exciting because it can make a movie better (visually at least). However, there is no way you can improve upon the original. It was really that damn good...cheesy effects and all (hell, that made the movie). Only way this movie can be better is dedicated actors (which I don't see happening), and a stronger story (which sure as hell isn't Michael Bays strong point...I don't even think he knows what a plot development is).

Rocky 6 - 5/10 - Entertaining, just underwhelming.
Die Hard 4 - 7/10 - Decent action, just did not seem right, Die Hard 2 Best By The way. Rambo 4 - Im Hopeful. Batman Begins - 10/10 - Favorite, with all due respect to 1989 Batman, I believe this captures the true look/feel of The Dark Knight (No Pun Intended) [/color] |
I'm not as big a fan of the movies as others, so I don't consider this nearly as blasphemous as others. The thing about remakes, though, is that if the director was nearly in as much love with the original as those who should be making a remake are, then they wouldn't dare do a remake, anyway. It's a bit of a paradox.
But honestly, I think I'd rather this than another ghost girl movie. Englund was great, sure, but I don't see why there could never be anyone else that could do great things with the Freddy character. Christian Bale made a great Batman, Daniel Craig made a great James Bond. There would be another guy out there who could take Freddy and not tarnish his iconic status. Speaking of Johnny Depp, I think he is an actor that could do amazing things with the Freddy Krueger character. My hopes for this turning out any good died when Michael Bay was attached. |
