Bookmarks disappeared

What version of Windows are you running?

XP

OK...couple of things you can try.

1. In explorer under "Documents & Settings" look for "My Recent Documents" and see if the bookmarks are there. If they are select the Bookmarks you want to restore and copy & paste them into the "Favourites" folder.
2. Recycle Bin - depending on what your XP settings are "set" at, you may find the bookmarks in the Recycle Bin - if they are, highlight them and click "Restore".
3. Have you "hidden" any files i.e. via Folder Options. Did you give the bookmarks "hidden" attributes. If so, go back into Folder Options and select "View all files", otherwise "unhide" the bookmarks.
4. Use "System Restore". Select a date immediately prior to your losing the bookmarks and try a System Restore to reinstate them. Be careful using System Restore however if you have extra hard drives. I would suggest de-selecting your external hard drives from the System Restore settings prior to running it.

Firefox has had problems with bookmarks, specifically deleting all of them. Sadly, there isn't much you can do at that point. If this is the case that is.

While this won't help get your bookmarks back, you might look into something like del.icio.us which will save your bookmarks online.
