I'm using Windows Media Player to burn Audio cds
But they wont play on CD players. They play on the computer though. I'm thinking the program isn't closing the CD but I have no idea how to go about doing it. Anyhow any help would be nice.
If anyone knows of a burning program free for download that would be nice as well. Thanks. :y: |
Nero I think.

That thing is 80$ man. Fuck that.
Try ImgBurn http://www.imgburn.com/
Thanks DS but the program doesn't reconize any of the music on my PC...
Hold on that was $80? What the hell, must be wrong link.

I use Nero Ultra 7 for CD burning and I love it.
I can give you a link to a free download via a torrent if the above is no good. I do however have to ask the question as to what file format you're trying to burn. I don't know the extent of your computer knowledge but if you're burning MP3's onto a CD in MP3 format and your CD player doesn't read MP3 format it won't play (but it will on your PC). If you're CD player doesn't read MP3 format you need to burn it as CD Audio format - this will create larger files so you won't get as many songs onto a CD. MP3 format will (depending on how large the files are, of course) give you between 150 - 200 songs on a single CD. CD Audio will only give you between 15 - 20 songs per CD. Another possibility may be that you are using a CD-RW and again your CD player may not be able to read this format. |
I think you're right about the MP3 format. Any simple tips for converting these files?
Just checked this theory and you are right. I put it into my DVD plsyer (plays MP3s) and it worked. Thanks man. still, if anyone can help with file conversion that would be awesome.
What type of files are they now Des, WMA?
MP3 (two are WMA)
And you want to convert them to an audio cd thing?
Yea something that will play in a run of the mill CD player.
Im not 100% sure this is the right one, but I think my friend did what your trying to do with this.

I honestly cant remember exactly what he did, I think its been about an year and a half since I burned an audio cd.
I'm downloading it now so we'll see.
Should I covert to WMA or WAV?
It claimed to have succesfully converted the files but on further inspection, it did not. GETTING PRETTY FRUSTRATED TBH
Uh. Fuck. I wish I was more help man. I think WMA files are files that get put on CD's though. Dont tase me if I am wrong.
Figured it out, pretty sure this is gonna work. Much appreciated Icebox.
No problem man, glad to help, although through many attempts :p
Fuck in bull shit this is. Right so I convert and burn all these (shitty) songs off and when I go to play it's got this snotty British chick repeating "ADVS Demo" ever 10 seconds over the music. GAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY.
Are you fucking serious? Sorry man :(
Dead serious
Ugh, Ill see what else I can find.
Ok, tell me Des, where are the original source of these songs? Download, MP3 Cd, what?
Download, I'm thinking of re-downloading them as WMV files and seeing how that goes.
:'(
Hold on dude, just use your default burner, go locate file, send to D: drive, that should work fine, just go in and rearrange the files after you got them, and put them in order.
:D |
But how will that change their file type?
Im like 95% percent certain it burns it as an audio CD, I think I have burned CD Player (Non-MP3) Discs before like this.
Nah, still MP3 format.
Fuck man, Im running out of ideas. :'(
If I think of any, Ill let you know. |

That is the help page of you have any problems, Man I have way too many of these things on my comp. Wipe time soon I think. |
Burnt on this buisness right now, I'll try again later. I appreciate the help though.
Dude Im getting as frustrated as you are, and im helping you.
Knowing your luck, this will actually work. :p |
I have no idea WTF you're doing. You did not need to convert them. WMP burns regular CDs perfectly without any burning plugins/extras and without converting. The only way you're getting MP3 CDs is if you're burning Data Discs. You can change it with the arrow below burn (if you're using WMP11).
Though it could be that the CD is incompatible with the CD player IF you are burning regular Audio CDs. Some players absolutely will not play them and some have problems with the different types (I think CD-R is the most compatible but I don't know for sure off-hand). |
