Apparently Cena just gave his injury away.

From PWInsider:

Rori McAlister of the Highlanders recently suffered a complete pectoral tear and underwent surgery yesterday to repair the tear, which was torn completely off the bone. On his MySpace.com blog, McAlister wrote that he didn't even know how he suffered the injury, but realized something was wrong and WWE sent him to be examined.

When the tear was discovered following an MRI, he was scheduled for surgery. Once they opened him up, they realized the tear was worse than originally expected. There's no known timetable for his return at this time.

I want to say "Just when the Highlanders were getting over too" but...

Robby: I'M ROBBY!
Rory: I'M... IN A LOT OF PAIN!

LOL, reminds me of Santino when they did the dating game segment

KingofOldSchool 02-11-2008 03:18 PM

$5 says that Rory will be out 5 times longer than Cena was out for.

thedamndest 02-11-2008 03:20 PM

Rory McAlister 2009 Royal Rumble ftw.

.44 Magdalene 02-11-2008 03:20 PM

$10 says that Rory won't win the Rumble when he gets back

Anybody Thrilla 02-11-2008 03:20 PM

Maybe, but I think it's safe to say that Cena is in SLIGHTLY better condition than Rory McAllister, and his injury sounds a lot more severe.

YOU REALLY ARE THE DAMNDEST!

He won't have access to the same sterodis.

thedamndest 02-11-2008 03:27 PM

How do you even get that kind of injury when you never wrestle?

thedamndest 02-11-2008 03:28 PM

Rory's move set includes PUNCH PUNCH KICK STOMP DON'T APPEAR ON TV FOR EIGHT WEEKS AT A TIME PUNCH GET PEDIGREE'D

.44 Magdalene 02-11-2008 03:30 PM

Replace "Don't appear on TV for eight weeks at a time" with "Fireman's Carry" and "Get Pedigree'd" with "Shitty STF," and...

Anybody Thrilla 02-11-2008 03:32 PM

I was gonna say he probably tore his pec by stroking his beard too hard, but that's Robbie that does that, isn't it?

Anybody Thrilla 02-11-2008 03:32 PM

Also, the 'don't appear on TV for eight weeks' is a very underrated finisher.

It's the best "comes out of nowhere" finisher ever.

$10 says he'll get released before returning.

I can see Rory in a match with a guy, then halfway through it, he mysteriously disappears. The confused ref calls a no contest. No mention is made of it at all. Then eight weeks later, his opponent is in the back sipping on a coffee or something when *BAM*! Rory pops out of nowhere and clocks him, drags him to the ring and makes the cover....

...which his opponent kicks out of and pins Rory with a schoolboy.

Inadequacy 02-11-2008 06:47 PM

lol, I know I'D mark out

Anybody Thrilla 02-11-2008 06:50 PM

I marked out just from typing it.

Inadequacy 02-11-2008 06:53 PM

I think it could be that one pivotal moment that brings back Wrestling's mainstream popularity. And just imagine the rub whoever beat him would get from defeating someone who can disappear and reappear (eight weeks later) at will!

Anybody Thrilla 02-11-2008 06:55 PM

I want to spread some rep for you, but I don't feel like it.

Inadequacy 02-11-2008 06:56 PM

The fact that you would even consider it is enough.

And no, I'm not ashamed of the immense kiss-assitude I've been showing in this thread

thedamndest 02-11-2008 08:37 PM

Hey, why am I not being considered for rep? My comment was the catalyst!

Mr. Nerfect 02-11-2008 09:56 PM

This is kind of a blessing in disguise for Rory McAllister. His wife just gave birth to the couple's first daughter, I believe. He will probably get to spend a lot more time with her inactive than he would if he was an active roster. Even if he doesn only appear every eight weeks.

It'll be interesting to see just how committed the WWE are to The Highlanders. When Lance Cade was injured, Trevor Murdoch pretty much lost every match except his later ones without Cade. When Paul London was out, Brian Kendrick was pretty much a jobber (hold your "Brian Kendrick is a jobber when he's with Paul London" jokes). Robbie McAllister is going to be without Rory for a long time, though, so maybe, just maybe, the WWE will repackage him, or do something interesting with him.

Of course, I am probably giving the WWE too much credit. Both The Highlanders are solid talents, in my opinion, so I hope Rory gets to make it back. I do get the sick feeling he may never get another chance to perform in the WWE.

I think they should pair Robbie McAllister with Drew McIntyre, and have them play kind of a "Scottish odd couple," seeing as McIntyre is doing nothing, also. Eventually you can have Robbie shave, get a haircut, and start acting more like a civilised person, just in time for Rory's return wanting to know what the fuck is going on.

Technically, Cena's STFU is actually an STS.

Short for Stepover Toehold Sleeper and innovated by Masahiro Chono, this hold is a modified STF in which the attacker wraps his arm around the neck of the opponent in a sleeper hold instead of pulling back on the head of the opponent. It is also used by John Cena, who calls it the STFU and is modified with crossed hands and more elevation than the STF.

:)

.44 Magdalene 02-12-2008 10:07 AM

I know about Chono doing the STS, but I thought Cena was just pulling back on the head funny.
