OMG everyone who enjoys mogwai, explosions in the sky, sigur ros, post rock in general needs to listen to this band. Most post-rock doesn't even sound alike.
It's just a catch all, head-up-your-ass this-shit-needs-a-genre-desperately name for overindulging in soft instrumentals and wanting a pat on the back for it. |
It's a bit of a dumping ground, really.
Which isn't to say all the stuff that gets dumped in there is bad or anything, just that a lot of the bands are very, very samey. |
