EXTREMELY happy sounding music

I need some. Preferably instrumental.

Something childlike, or with whistling, or even some old jazz.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-19-2008 09:11 AM

REM - Shiny happy people.

.44 Magdalene 02-19-2008 09:21 AM

Didn't that song feature the B52's? Or am I thinking of a different one?

Happy Song by Liam Lynch

.44 Magdalene 02-19-2008 09:27 AM

"Hey, hey, hey! Pull this bus over to the side of the pretentiousness turnpike! I want everybody out, I want the shiny people over here and the happy people over here! I represent angry, gun-toting, meat-eating fucking people! ...Sit down and shut the fuck up, Michael." - Dennis Leary

Happy Song by Liam Lynch

It featured one of the female singers from the B52's.

Ninti the Mad 02-19-2008 11:11 AM

LOL, that's exactly what I thought of

Indifferent Clox 02-19-2008 06:49 PM

Deerhoof- blue cash
all of both these bands but especially the songs I named
Fiery Furnaces- blueberry boat

Triple A 02-19-2008 10:03 PM

Blueberry Boat is really good. Exactly what i was looking for really. Couldn't find the other one though.

The other songs listed are either too well known or too many lyrics. I guess I don't want lyricssssssss

Any more??? Preferably songs that are "child-like" and stuff. I am gonna be using these to edit into short films/animations.

RP 02-19-2008 10:06 PM

Graham Nash- Simple Man

Indifferent Clox 02-19-2008 10:13 PM

Los Compelinos- You! me! Dancing!
Animal Collective- peacebone/ Fireworks

Bjork- Can't help loving that man
hyperballad

Indifferent Clox 02-19-2008 10:15 PM

Extremely happy

Daft punk Alive 2007 Medley-
Human after all/Together/ one more time (reprise)/ Music Sounds Better with you (stardust)

Indifferent Clox 02-19-2008 10:19 PM

while the original version is sad and may have some sad lyrics the music always makes me happy-

Stuck inside of mobile with the memphis blues again- Cat Power (from I'm not there)

Champion of Europa 02-20-2008 06:17 AM

After Hours by Velvet Underground

Triple A 02-20-2008 06:55 AM

OH also...

How about songs with whistling in them?

Songs that feature whistling throughout, and no lyrics, would be amazing.

El Vaquero de Infierno 02-20-2008 07:46 AM

Joanna Newsom - Sprout and the bean

That is kind of child-like.

Triple A 02-20-2008 07:57 AM

Also maybe some happy/old sounding jazz music.

DrA 02-20-2008 08:52 AM

Bernard Hermann - Twisted Nerve

Triple A 02-20-2008 08:54 AM

Already have it.

Triple A 02-20-2008 09:25 AM

OK I found the absolute perfect artist for what I am looking for.

His name is Ronnie Ronalde and he is a 1950s "whistler". The problem is I can't find anything by him at all online to download for free. I might actually have to go buy an album from him.

OssMan 02-20-2008 04:13 PM

Blueberry Boat is great, I gave it 5 stars

I dug up some old music my friends made when they were in middle school before two of them joined the shittiest band ever and it is really happy :(

The Naitch 02-21-2008 02:12 AM

Justice- DANCE

Architecture in Helsinki is usually pretty infectiously cheery. There are lyrics in most songs, but there are a few instrumentals. But there are clap-alongs, wind and string instruments, horns, and general cheeriness abound.

In fact, fuck it, I just recommend Architecture in Helsinki full stop, whether it's what you're actually looking for or not. Get their album In Case We Die. Fingers Crossed and Places Like These are both excellent listens too, but ICWD is my personal favourite.

Triple A 02-21-2008 04:09 AM

Yeah, I like Architecture in Helsinki. Not exactly what I am looking for in terms of this thread, but yeah they are good times.

mitchables 02-21-2008 04:23 AM

Oh well. At least it was a good suggestion anyways.

Champion of Europa 02-21-2008 04:37 AM

Also, the theme song for the Whitest Kids U Know TV show is super happy and has no real lyrics.

Conan: "According to a new survey, democrats in Washington are going on a lot more dates since they became the majority in congress. Which makes sense, cause there's no bigger aphrodisiac than EXTREMELY LIMITED LEGISLATIVE POWER." (crowd does not laugh)

My fav Conan joke of all time btw

I saw that show and both the joke and the delivery were gold, just gold.
