Anyone play these games? I'm hooked everytime a new one comes out....

I'm gonna try for no spoilers here but I'm one case in and it's the best case of the entire series so far for me. Yes, the tutorial level that's always present. All I want to know (and I hope to god it will be revealed) is WHAT THE FUCK HAPPENED BETWEEN T&T AND THIS?!?

I also kinda hope it's short, I get far too many all-nighters playing these games....
