Carlito

...just qualified for the mitb match and earned his wrestlemania spot. So he just broke that little jinx of his with the wwe. I am dissappointed that he doesn't get much mic time but he is on a winning streak though. Reflect your thoughts.

Caged Heat18 03-04-2008 09:26 PM

I like Carlito, I'm glad he's in the MITB match, and I think he can really add something special to it.

Mr. Pierre 03-04-2008 09:30 PM

When Carlito's music hit for a MITB qualifier I wasn't sure if he was there to job or to actually get a spot on Mania. Then when Cody came out, I still couldn't figure out if he was gonna job or not.

Saying that, I think Carlito right now is the definition of 'lower-midcarder', and hopefully with him getting a spot on the card can give him a bit more credibility and lead to a bit of a push in the future. I'm not saying World title, but I would like to see Carlito jump to SD! to give Matt Hardy a feud for the US title (when he finally beats MVP, and MVP then heads to RAW). I think those two can have a nice program over the title in the Spring/Summer when MVP/Hardy finishes :y:

Mr. Nerfect 03-04-2008 09:34 PM

Carlito is the goods, in my opinion. Anyone who gets fun out of John Cena on his first night is pretty darn cool.

It makes perfect sense for Carlito to be in Money in the Bank, because he revived Jericho's concept for WrestleMania 22. Carlito doesn't need a super push at this stage, and although he can become something, he just needs to get a little more on track.

People claim the guy is lazy, but I actually look at him performing, and he's really quite good. He reacts to what is going on, and he is not afraid to bump and throw himself into things. I expect him to be an unexpected highlight of the MITB Ladder Match.

Then I expect a move to SmackDown! to team/feud with his brother, Eddie Colon, who is meant to be getting called up soon.

Heros Welcome 03-04-2008 09:36 PM

I'll piggy back on what Mr. Pierre said...I too wasn't sure what end Lito was going to be on in the MiTB qualifier. I mean the E seems to like Cody enough to give him about 25 minutes in the rumble, so I watched the match with a lot more intent.

When he won I was happy because I'm a big supporter of Carlito, but also when he won I just sat back and wondered what he could have been by now. I mean, in the end, based on reports, its his own fault that he isn't a main event player. Maybe after MiTB if he gets a decent enough midcard push it could make him up his game. The man is still young. A move to SD would work.

Inadequacy 03-05-2008 10:00 AM

Sweet, Carlito's in the match that he should have been a part of two years ago.

But yeah, I'm glad to see this, I've always been a fan of Carlito.

Mr. Nerfect 03-05-2008 10:06 AM

The match he and Cody Rhodes had was pretty fucking sweet, actually. Carlito is the master of doing little things out there that reassure me that the guy has large amounts of talent.

Inadequacy 03-05-2008 10:16 AM

Yeah I was really into that match. Every time Cody would have Carlito in a roll up I'd be on the edge of my seat, because I was afraid Carlito might have actually lost. I know it's kind of a cheap trick, but lots of quick roll ups get me every time.

Mr. Nerfect 03-05-2008 04:54 PM

That Backstabber Cody took was pretty sick.

Stickman 03-06-2008 12:58 PM

The guy sucks.

Gone Mad 03-06-2008 01:11 PM

I think he's pretty good, but not where he's at now.

At least he's in MITB finally. I say that move to SD! would help get him as it is a fresh start and could include some great fueds, like with Matt Hardy or CM Punk .

Rumours state that Carlito will end up on SmackDown! in the scheduled post-WrestleMania draft. I think I also heard something about either working with or against his brother, Eddie Colon.

NeanderCarl 03-06-2008 03:51 PM

Fuck him.

NeanderCarl 03-06-2008 03:52 PM

Stole my name.

BigDaddyCool 03-06-2008 05:12 PM

Carlito was lazy, he is getting a bit better, but he is still far from steller. He is only gold on the mic because of his funny accent, samething with Santino.

Exactly, this has been his problem, hes lazy. He has the talent he just hasn't been pushing himself. He hasn't keep himself in the best shape and he doesn't work as hard as he could in the ring.

Although, if he didnt have his accent he would still good on the mic.

BigDaddyCool 03-06-2008 05:35 PM

Carlito seems to realize he has a job because he speaks spanish. He will continue to coast and be a midlevel jobber forever cause he is lazy.

Vastardikai 03-06-2008 10:31 PM

I've often heard that Eddie was the better talent anyway.

I disagree, actually. A lot of reports were saying that he was lazy, but I never really saw it. Carlito actually has a damn good moveset, in my opinion, something he is often criticised for. I love his running knee lift, running southpaw clothesline combo. I also love how he does a springboard spinning flipping senton thing, and then follows it immediately with a quebrada off the opposite side of the ring.

Reports say he was "unmotivated," but I cannot blame Carlito for that. The WWE was writing him as a bland babyface. Of course that's going to depress a guy. Chris Benoit was a bland babyface for four years, and killed his family because of it.

Santino Marella is actually pretty damn funny on the mic. I find what he says much more funnier than how he says it, although Santino does do a good job with the accent.

I've heard that Eddie is very talented. Carlito was kind of pushed into the business by his dad, apparently, and then found out he loved it; Eddie wanted to do it from the start.

It'll be interesting to see how Eddie matches up personality-wise to Carlito.

Outsider 03-07-2008 04:59 AM

Carlito is just what the WWE needs. Solid midcard talent who you could never justify pushing all of the way.

Columbo step aside, Detective Noid has solved the case.

We have our motive.

Kane Knight 03-08-2008 11:53 AM

I shoot on the face of people who don't want to be cool.

Kane Knight 03-08-2008 11:54 AM

Hey, does Carlito still say "Dat's not cool?"

Juan 03-08-2008 11:36 PM

I really like Carlito. He's been improving and I think he's capable of elevating himself if he's focused.

He doesn't get much promo time these days. Though I'm sure he'll still say it on your answering machine for a dollar.

Kane Knight 03-09-2008 09:00 AM

"Dees ees Carrrrleeto. Leeave a message at da beeeep, and don't be a tape hog. Das not cool!"

Peter Falk should be WWE Champion. There, I'm saying it.

Agreed.

Wait... what the hell? Do you realise we both just suggested that the octogenarian actor Peter Falk from Columbo should be World Wrestling Entertainment Champion?? Do you realise just HOW nuts that truly is? We've both gone crazy.

NeanderCarl 03-09-2008 10:43 AM

He'd never get past the glass ceiling, and you know it.

That's actually Carlito's answering machine. What's sad, though, is that whenever Carlito checks it he hears "No new messages."

"Damn eet. Wasn't TNE at least interested in me?"
